I'm posting about teeth...again...

LO just has his first top teeth coming through. When the bottom ones came, we had a few biting incidents but he got the message and hasn't tried it since and BF has been fine.

Now with the top teeth, I can really feel it even though he doesn't bite down, just in his normal sucking latch the new tooth is boring into my nipple. And the tooth is getting longer every day. Ouch!

How do you handle this? I'm not sure if this is normal or if my LO has a latch that is not open enough. He has always made lots of smacking noises and I tried to correct his latch when he was little, but no luck an as he was getting the milk out anyway, I let it be as it is.

Any ideas? I really need some help as I don't want to stop BF yet!!

It takes them a while to adjust. How long has it been since he got his top teeth?

Just about a week so it's a new thing. So you are saying there is hope yet? Yay! :)

i'm gonna keep an eye on this topic as i am hoping to feed Lucas til about a year or so - and so am likley to encounter these issues, my hope was that if there was any discomfort caused by teeth that i could use lanolin to help soothe it.

Brenn's do the same thing, I find that if I get his head to tilt back a bit more, I guess imagine the top of his head being more inline with the nipple, they tend to to rub so much.

It does hurt for a bit but you'll adjust and you won't even notice anymore :)

Thanks, I'm hoping it will be soon....! ;)
