temping for the first time...can someone give me the basics?

i've been temping since the 28th of July! it seems my usual temp is sorta...low 36C. the highest I've had is 36.29 and the lowest was 36.00.
but yea...i dont know what I'm watching for! I know a spike is ovulation...but I know little else...how long does a spike have to be to be ovulation, what does my temp do when I'm expecting my period etc etc! advice will be gladly taken!

If your temp goes up and stays up for 3 days, you can pinpoint ovulation for the day before the spike started. My temp usually falls the day before AF.
