Sounds like an early miscarriage (or chemical as its known) not a faulty test!

Not always, alot of docs will not confirm a +ve as HPTs are so reliable. Mine just told me congrats and get yourself booked in with the MW at about 10 weeks

thats a very strong positive, as has been said, the first line is the one that tells you your pregnant, the second is the control line to show the test is working, a test with that dark a first line suggests theres enough HCG in the system that is draws up most of the dye for the first line, only allowing a small amount through for the 2nd.
Most definitely pregnant! Congrats to you and your wife!

I had the same questions with my test (see thread "How to read FR tests?") - but the consensus is that the first line is the pregnancy test, the second is the control line Make yourself an appt at the docs to triple check and then you should be good to go
