Very delayed birth story!
I was due November 27th, baby had dropped and engaged weeks before due date and had previously had Lletz treatment to my cervix so was told there was a possibility of me going early, liiieeeessss!!! Lol
On November 30th at 4am I started getting painful contractions, I had been having intense braxtons regularly for days before hand and they kept getting stronger and stronger until that morning when I realised they had turned into contractions! I got so excited as every one got stronger and stronger, the timings were so irregular though ranging from 5-20 minutes! Started losing my plug, rank! lol for those who want gory details it was thick orangey mucus! no mistaking it!! The following morning at about 6am I had enough and decided to go to hospital as they were unbelievably intense now however still irregular!! I guessed they'd send me home but wanted to get examined to see of anything was happening! Got there, examined me and said my cervix was too far back to feel (yet a few days ago was dilated 1cm at my sweep) I don't believe she did it right cause the sweep didn't hurt but this examination was excruciating!!! Anyways got sent home to ride through more contractions, early morning on the 2nd of December again I gave in and went to hospital, contractions were so so strong but still irregular varying between 3-8 minutes, got there, 7cm dilated!! Yeeaaaaaaaa!! Laboured on the bed for a little while just whinging about the pressure in my back! Indescribable feeling! I asked to get in the pool so they went and filled it up for me, got in and wow!!! The release I felt when I got in was incredible!!! Continued labouring and felt the urge to push and was told to go with it! With 2 days of contractions behind me I was so tired as had no sleep so pushing was difficult but I did my best! Cpuple of sucks on gas and air whichh didnt really help apart from goving me something to bite on! Pop went my waters and I actually said "bollocks, he's had a shit" cheeky git!! So had to clamber out of the pool which was so bloody difficult!! Felt like I was squishing his head! Got on to a birthing stool to get monitored, still pushing, with every push his little heart beat slowed almost to a stop I tried with all my might to get the lad out but I just couldn't!! I felt like a complete and utter failure!! I got rushed down to the labour and delivery ward and was told I'd need a ventouse and episiotomy. I instantly freaked out and begged for a csection and to be put to sleep for it but it was too late anyway, so during a contraction he injected my moo to numb it ( OUCH!!! ) which didn't work!! He cut me during the next contraction which I felt!! The pain was so intense I was screaming that I felt it but he was insistent that I couldn't... Err wtf? Yes I could!! He put the ventouse on and started pulling as I pushed, I could feel my insides tearing as he was coming out, kept thinking his head must be out now!! But no it just kept stretching and stretching!! I knew his head was out cause I heard him screaming straight away before his shoulders were even out!!! They chucked him on me and rubbed him clean and there he was my 9lb 2oz baby boy!! and tk be honest I can't remember this bit.. They jabbed the needle in my leg and pulled out my placenta in loads of tiny pieces, it had fallen apart! they started stitching me up immediately as I was losing too much blood, I could see it splattering everywhere was like something out of a Saw movie! Horrific!! They stitched me up for what felt like forever, bare in mind I wasn't numb I felt every single thing! I was screaming that I was dying and I fully believed I was, the pain of those stitches make me go weak to this day when I think of it! I was begging them to stop until I passed out either from the pain or the blood loss I don't know! Next thing I remember was I got asked to go for a shower cause they needed the room, I got up and my insides felt so heavy, I couldn't breathe, I was dizzy and I was so sore!! I had been cut from my V to my A! Not to mention the tearing on the insides! I walked through pools of my own blood and slipped on a bit of placenta they left behind (lovely) and the midwife was rushing me to the shower, I kept telling her I was going to pass out but she kept telling me I wouldn't... Well I did lol woke up instantly though and got in the shower and had my first wee, stang a little nothing too bad! Got back to the room and was transferred upstairs to the ward!
That night I got woken up by a midwife and told I was sleeping through my baby crying so they took him to the nursery, after 3 days of no sleep and a traumatic labour I was fine with that! Woke up the next morning and no one would tell me where my boy was!! At lunchtime, LUNCHTIME I got told he had been taken down to neonatal as his breathing had deteriorated. I was fuming!! Anyway long story short, he had jaundice, Pnemonia and group b strep bacteria
We were both in hospital for a week, he had all sorts done to him, lumbar punctures etc
But on day 8 we were allowed home!! I was still pretty immobile as my stitches had split open and refused to have them stitches up again! (They've healed perfectly well, didnt get infected and look incredibly neat!)

He's fine and happier than ever now one of the smiliest babies (apart from the reflux!) and he was worth every single second that I went through!!

Proud I did it with no pain relief, a few puffs of gas and air and that was it!
I am a bit disappointed I couldn't get him out myself but he was an awfully big boy!

Hope I haven't scared anyone, were both ok and we're both stronger than ever because of it initially I said no more babies lol but I can honestly say I do intend to do it all over again one day so it couldn't have been that bad!!
And don't let anyone tell you you're not in labour because your contractions are irregular, even during pushing stages they were still irregular!!!!

Essay over!!! Lol xx

congratulations!! you should be so proud! that sounds so painful but you did it! now its all behind you and you can enjoy your little baby boy ;)

Congratulations! Yes the pain sounds scary but I love knowing the truth, and I'm sure you make the girls who have been through similar births not feel alone when you don't sugar coat things!
Thanks, enjoy your lovely boy! X

There was certainly nothing sugar coated about my labour lol!! Contractions were the easiest part for me! They actually weren't as bad as I'd imagined!

Congrats! Scary but I did lol at the slipping on the placenta bit

Wow you are the woman! And with my last 2 babies my contractions NEVER got regular.
