My baby is only a week old. But. The things I worry about are insane and I know it. But in the moment they seem so real. Sometimes I get so worried I can't sleep or my chest hurts.

Please tell me I'm not alone. :( :(

You are definitely not alone. I felt this way and I promise it will pass. Best advice I can offer is to talk to your OH about how your feeling, you will both be glad of each others support xx

I was the same Hun with my first I use to sit there and panic over things, being a first time mom is and amazing and worrying time because u wonder if what u are doing is right but it does get better and when u have a 2nd child it feels a lot better because u done it all before with your first and u don't worry too much

I remember doing bottle for the first time with dd1 a different swilled them under the tap and put them straight in the steriliser and when I sat down and read a leaflet on bottle feeding off the midwife I burst into tears because I didn't wash the bottles and I had already gave dd1 a bottle of milk I called my mom in a state of panic my mom said no harm was done and that I was over reacting lol at the time I was upset but now when i look back I was over reacting lol x

I was and am the same. I guarantee nothing you have worried about can be as ridiculous as my worries!

For example, when my LO was 4 weeks old I thought I had given her shaken baby syndrome by jiggling her a bit (she liked to be jiggled) - she was sick and her eyes went a bit crossed. I later discovered it was because I was wearing a top with stripes that she couldn't focus on! But at the time, I was seriously upset and was anxious and worried about it for weeks.

I am a worrier anyway, and have worried a LOT about her since, but it is getting easier as she gets older and can communicate with me a bit.

She's nearly 19 months and absolutely fine. :)

I am a first time mom as well. My baby is 10 weeks old and I still worry, but I am not losing sleep as often as I did in those first few weeks. You are not alone. It does get better, and there will be times it gets worse, like when your baby has its first cold. You will make it through. I really struggled with the worry and anxiety and I couldn't sleep, but it got better.

Something that has been very reassuring for me is the snuza we bought. It is a little clip that goes on the diaper and monitors baby's breathing. It will beep loudly to alert you if baby stops breathing. I think that was my worst fear. That he would stop breathing and it would be too late before I noticed because I was asleep. It has a little green light that blinks every time he breathes (you can still see it through the clothes). I still watch it sometimes. If worrying about breathing is on your list of worries, buy one of these. I have slept much more soundly since we started using it. You can even set it to where it gives a light beep every time baby breathes. Might be reassuring for you to hear.

If baby breathing isn't on your list of worries, then ignore everything I just said. Lol
