so it was my due date 5th november i woke up very excited indeed i stupidly expected something to happen i dont know why as all the way through my pregnancy i just had a feeling he was going to be late but all the same i carried on as normal..and then through out the day i noticed he wasnt moving as much as he normally did. I rang labour ward and they told me to come straight in...me and OH got to the hospital and they monitored him and they said all was fine however i had high BP, protein in my wee and lots of swelling in hands and feet...the doctor came in and gave me an internal and said i wasnt even 1 cm dilated yet
at this point i was not a happy bunny lol...however i was just greatful he was ok..the doctor also attempted a sweep but it was to painful so she stopped..they let me go an hour later and said they would arrange an appointment the next day to see community midwife to check BP.
The next day the MW checked my BP it was still high but had come down a little bit but the protein had gone in my wee so she wasnt worried and just told me to go home and relax and wait for the baby to come..
so me and oh went shopping, did lots of walking and i sat there thinking of ways to make my baby come lol!!7
that night i found it really hard to get to sleep for some reason and when i finally got to sleep i felt a small trickle down my leg at first i though ooh dear im wetting myself but i tried to stop it and couldnt at this point i was slightly freaking out and woke OH he then started freaking out i then woke my mum up and we all came downstairs rang labour ward and they told me to stick a pad on and monitor it and wait for contrations i thought bloody hell!!...we all went back to bed and then about an hour later i started to get pains ..they werent consistant and were just like dull period pains but still enough to keep me awake...i was getting very excited at this point at the thought of meeting my LO......rang labour ward again they said to wait untill they were 2-3 mins apart
we all got up again and i started straightening my hair lol..wanted to look my best for some reason 
the pains started coming regular so we went into hospital i got checked over and i still was barely 1 cm dilated however on the CTG machine the contractions were regular and painful....they decided to keep me in for monitoring overnight due to my BP i wasnt happy i was so uncomfortable, bored and lonely..when my mum and OH left as visiting was over i just sat there in pain the MW gave me some codeine but it had no affect i was literally grabbing onto the bed in agony...it got to about 3 in the morning and at this point i had no sleep i was sooooo tired the MW suggested a nice warm bath it made me feel tons better but the pains were still there. i got really upset and the MW just said well if this is what your like now with braxton hicks imagine what the real things like (forgot to mention they thought they were just fake contrations at this point ) i explained to her that these just felt so real and painful but she wasnt bothered told me to try and get some sleep i thought yeah right im in frigin agony and your just being a patronising toad!!
anyway morning came and i was still in agony tried to get some breakfast but couldnt..had another bath went back to my bed and the doctor came wanting to examine me i nearly said no but then thought ooh i might aswell so she checked me and her face said it all!!...she said you better get your bags and come with me your 7cm dilated
i thought bloody hell i was the girl who wanted every drug going and had got to 7cm dilated with no help but a bath and 2 codeines lol!!
well it was all go from there rang OH and mum they came straight away i was introduced to gas and air and that truly was my best friend at the time if you use it properly its really helpful...
the contractions were coming really frequent now and the MW checked me and decided to break my waters when she did this she noticed meconium it was fresh though so she wasnt bothered....the contractions really came fast and very painful after that so decided to have pethediene (didnt make me feel sick at all just very drunk)
after being in labour for 9 hours having no sleep at all i was to tired to keep pushing MW's making me try every position possible which was not comfy, making me get on the birthing stool which was horrendous felt more like squatting over a toilet horrible!! i told the MW i couldnt push anymore and wanted help she said shed leave it another hour but i knew i couldnt i was falling to sleep in between contrations....so in the end she got the doctor in they decided to try and get him out with kiwi (ventouse) they tried but failed at this point it was extremely painful and i was squealing in agony with legs in stirrups the MW's holding my legs down.....they then decided to try the forcepes which were horrendous!!..they were huge..i had to be given local anasthetic to numb my foof..whilst they were doing episiotomy which was again horrendous..
i think i even pulled the emergency cord that was next to me because several nurses came running in.i think i grabbed onto the MW's arm and even told my mum to *beep* off as she kept saying put your chin on your chest and push!!..but about 10-15 minutes later and with one big push out came the beautiful Alfie Jaxon
they put him on my chest and he was gorgeous..
he was grunting alot and seemed in distress and his shoulder was pulled on his way out so they took him away to be checked over to neonatal unit they then stictched me back up during this time i managed to beg for the gas and air and they gave into me lol
when they were finished they let me no Alfie was ok and was put into an incubator with oxygen to help him....
after they told me i felt so much better knowing he was going to be ok it was so scary not like the films were you have baby they give him to you and everythings fine..
i then jumped in the bath and we waited to be took up to the ward..
i had a rest and then went to see Alfie...he had all things attatched to him which was horrible but i knew it was helping him...
we got to go home after a week of him being checked over and given antibiotics as they discovered he had an infection of his chest which was affecting his left lung..
were now home and hes doing brilliantly hes got reflux and gets in pain alot but other than that hes perfect!!
