We have a lovely mattress and I sleep fine, no real discomfort, but last night we slept in the spare room due to painting our room, the mattress on the spare bed is the one we had before we got our lovely and very expensive mattress (ok it wasn't expensive to us but it would have been if we didn't have friends who work for a bed company) anyway we slept on it last night and I was so uncomfortable. Had leg cramp, hip ache and back ache. It was horrible. I used to think that mattress was so comfortable, but I was so wrong.

It just goes to show what a difference a comfortable mattress makes, ours is sprung and memory foam and I think actually worth over £1000 and its so so comfy.

Pointless thread but my god the difference in comfort the memory foam makes. If you are finding your bed uncomfortable, maybe invest in a memory foam mattress topper, cos my god the memory foam part of our mattress is like a little piece of heaven!! :)

We got a new bed and mattress about three months ago. We were umming and ahhing over whether we should get it and finally decided that we wouldn't be able to afford it after the birth so may as well skint ourselves out then. Oh my gosh was it the right thing to do, it's bliss. Even just sitting on our old bed (which now graces our spare room) you can tell it's so rubbish in comparison. Well worth the investment!

Yeh definitely agree, I dont think until you've slept on a really good quality mattress that you realise just what comfort you get from it. If we hadn't got this new mattress I'd be uncomfortable every single night through this pregnancy.
