The first week after birth...

I have 2 girls and I'm pregnant with a little boy! I was just wondering how much weight you lost by the end of the first week of giving birth, I cannot remember what it was for me :)
 
I lost 20lbs almost immediately after birth... Now 18 weeks later, I'm struggling to get rid of the extra 20 I put on. I'm not even fat. It's all at my tummy so I still look pregnant!! :(
 
I went from 74 to 68kg in first week. Then it's gradually coming off. 7 weeks on I'm 64kg😀
 
I didn't weigh myself til 3 weeks pp but by then I'd lost 35lb of the 44lb I put on. But I did have a HUGE (10lb 2oz) baby and had gallons of water retention. I couldn't get my own shoes or my wedding ring on until 5 weeks pp.
 
Oh man this last time after the first week I think I only lost 5lbs of 35! I also had a ton of fluid retention so I'm sure that didn't help. But that was ridiculous to me being that my son was 6lbs 11oz....not to mention placenta etc!
 
I gained 24lbs total (according to my notes - stopped weighing myself :haha: ) and had lost 15lbs one week pp. I'm now 3 weeks pp & have lost another 5lbs so I'm now 4lbs over my start weight.

Like lcmoria - the weight is all around my tummy & with the stretched skin it's not a pretty sight :nope:
 
I only gained 11lbs during pregnancy and lost 13lbs or so in the first week (LO weighed almost 9lbs at birth!). I kept on losing for the first month or so, which was really nice because I was a stone below my pp weight. 10 months down the line I've put that stone back on though. Boo!
 
I put on 28lb in total. One week pp I had lost 12lb. By now (the end of the second week) I'm down another 6, so only 10 to go. I thought it was all in my tummy, but I've just spotted stretch marks on the back of my thighs, so I guess I'm holding some weight there, too. My tummy has gone way down, though.
 
I didn't weigh myself after birth, mostly because I didn't gain much to begin with. I had hyperemesis, so I was just concerned about getting loose skin, surprise stretch marks (due to quickly shrinking in size), just overal how my tummy would look (I was 22 at the time so was more concerned with that).

My hips on the other hand really did expand, and even though my jeans would fit around my tummy, due to my hips they wouldn't fit, if that makes any sense. It took almost 2 months for them to go down some!

I'm sure you will look lovely, and if anything I would rather lose the weight little by little than too drastic as that can also have negative consequences. Also don't do too much, I did and ended up needing bed rest. xxx
 
I gained 30 pounds during pregnancy. I lost 10 in the first 3 days, 17 in the first week, and I am now 5 weeks postpartum and have lost 23 pounds with 7 to go. I have not done any exercise (besides light walking and chasing after my toddler), and I am breastfeeding (which they say helps).

I had retained placental pieces, and my weight was stuck at 17 lb weight loss from 1 week - 4 weeks postpartum until I expelled the pieces and then immediately after I started losing again.
 
I didn't exactly keep track, but it dropped fast the first few days. Overall weight loss has been slower the second time around.
 
Lost 27lbs by the 2nd week. Haven't lost any since so it seems I must work for the other 23 lol
 
Not sure on after the first week, but at my 2 week pp appt I had lost 25lbs.
 
I only put on about 15 lbs during my pregnancy (I was a bit overweight to being with), and I had lost about 25 lbs at a 2 week visit, then had lost 40 by the 6 week. I've pretty much stayed there since.

My baby was almost 10 lbs at birth though, he had a huge appetite, and I'd had some pretty bad complications during delivery that made it difficult and painful to move, so I probably wasn't eating frequently enough.
 
I put on about 25 lbs. Now 2.5 weeks later, I am about 4 lbs over starting weight (am breastfeeding; most of it came off in first week, slowly dropping since). Pretty happy and similar to my prior to pregnancies!
 
I gave birth 4 days ago but haven't been able to get weighed yet as I'm in hospital with baby until she completes a course of IV antibiotics. Hoping to be home on Tuesday when she's a week old so will weigh myself then! I didn't gain too much (11lbs I think) and baby weighed 5lb2oz so I'm hoping to be not too far from my starting weight.
 
Pre-preggo weight was 123lbs, gained 12 throughout the pregnancy and then was around the 110 mark a few days later - so dropped roughly 20lbs. I know I've gained a lot of weight this pregnancy so refuse to look at the scales. Midwife seems happy with whatever I've gained though :)
 
I gained 52, lost only 5 by the time I had arrived home (delivered an 8 lb baby + fluid + placenta). After one week I lost 20 lbs. 4 months later, I have 35 lbs to lose. Not sure of it's the breastfeeding, but I just haven't lost anything since that first week.
 
I had preenclampsia (which means I had a lot of liquid) plus twin boys, I think I lost at least 20 kilos and then a further 10 as the weeks went on X
 
8 days PP and I'm back to pre-pregnancy weight of 10st4lb, albeit with a very floppy belly :haha:
