So now that I am getting closer and closer to my due date I'm officially getting more and more nervous with labor.

I honestly don't know what to expect and realized last night that I've posted a LOT of threads thinking I was in labor and having contractions...

I apologize for that I guess I'm just nervous and don't know what to expect I mean everyone always says that you'll know when the real contractions hit but I get so anxious that I think that all contractions are the real thing.

I'm getting so anxious I just want to be able to know that it's coming and not be shocked about it.

I wish we got a feeling that labor was coming like Intuition. Like how most girls know they are pregnant before they take the test because "they had a feeling" I wish it was the same with labor. Has anyone experienced that?

I'm getting so anxious about it I'm way beyond nervous...Any advice??

I'm feeling this way as well!! I tell myself, "It's gonna hurt! You'll know!!" But then I think "well what if i have one of those crazy labors where it doesnt?!" And i'm always freaked out that my water is going to break and I wont realize it and something will happen to LO.
My best suggestion is just keep thinking that our bodies know what they are doing. Like my doctor said to me yesterday, you dont have a choice, you're body will do what it needs to when it is ready.

The few days before i went into labour i just knew it was going to happen, even though i was a week early. But, when my waters broke i was convinced i'd just wet myself! My advice would be to keep busy, stay active and then all of a sudden it'll just happen. Make sure your bag is ready and the baby's stuff is prepared and when the time comes you'll have nothing to worry about x

Thanks! My bag has been packed for quite some time now haha

I felt like this too, I think it's normal to feel that way and to worry that every little thing is labour, so don't worry about it too much :) Honestly, you will know if you are going into labour :) I got woken with my real contractions, and you definately can tell the difference between them and Braxton Hicks. Another way to tell is to time them. I THINK you're looking at your contractions being 10 mins or less, and going down gradually, that's the most obvious sign of it being real labour.

About the anxiousness, just try and relax. It's completely natural. Women were meant to have children :) You just have to try and take a deep breath and try not to feel anxious. When I was going through my contractions, I found it really good to sort of block everything out, you just kind of imagine yourself not being there. It's hard to explain, but once you are in labour you'll find a way. Concentrate on breathing, that helps :) And gas and air helped me during the later stages - again because it made me concentrate on my breathing rather than pain. Honestly it's copeable, and it's 1000% worth it. Hell, I'm going to be doing it for the second time, and with only 17-18 months between the two births - so it can't be THAT bad eh  Stay positive hun :)

I was like you and kept thinking the slightest twinge was labour but you will definitely know. As soon as i stopped being fed up of my belly (at that point i could quite happily have stayed pregnant for another 9 months) it came to an end!

Good luck :flower:

I was having contractions for 4 days so i kind of knew it was coming
x

Like Youngling I was in early labour for 6 days, so knew it would soon come to an end,
I also had alot of hiccups with preterm labour & never felt the contractions I had with my preterm labor at 32 weeks, so worried I wouldn't feel the real ones, but I did!
Don't worry, you will know :) x

i was talking to my boyfriend about this, he said
''what if your waters break while your going for a pee and youve just eaten a curry and think its just a reacion to the spicy food and the baby pops out''
I didnt sleep very well that night :)
hopefully you just know.. :)
((altho im due april 2nd.. might have to play an april fools on my boyfriend HAHAHA))
