Hi gals!! I have always wondered about Kegels. Do they really work? Is it really possible to tighten/strengthen your vagina with this simple little exercise? There are so many split opinions on this issue.

Personally for me, I have only been with 1 person, my DH because we were very young when we met. I don't know about anyone else but sex has gotten DIFFERENT, much different from when I was 17. Not that my DH has ever complained, but for me personally, it has gotten harder to feel a whole lot of sensation during intercourse and thus a whole lot less enjoyable. I also noticed it was taking him longer to orgasm. I then began to wonder, am I loose? And then came all the thoughts that I wasn't "good enough" and I was "used up", etc. I cried about it. I cried to Will (DH) about it. He reassured me and eventually I got over it. But still, sex was MUCH less enjoyable for me. And now that I'm (finally) pregnant, I also begin to wonder what giving birth will do to my vagina.

Now, this is NOT solely for my husband's purpose or pleasure but for MINE as well. So many women say that having intercourse will NOT loosen a vagina but then what does? What is causing this lack of sexual sensation for me and other women? I personally believe that it can. I don't know what else it could logically be. I've come here to ask about other women's experiences and share mine. I've also read that doing Kegel exercises can help ease vaginal birth (yay).

I plan to start, doing 10-15 reps of Kegels 3-4 times a day, documenting every week for 8 weeks and seeing if I notice any differences!

Has anyone ever gotten any results from doing consistent Kegel exercises? Share with me please!! :flower:

i was doing kegals but since becoming an Ann Summers rep i got some kegal balls & just used them..
they worked much better especially after having LO.
they also help intensify your orgasm

I have always done Kegals. Ever since I was a young girl due to some bladder issues. I've pretty much have done them daily since. When I was at my both of my PP follow ups or when I get a pelvic exam or more recently an exam to check for prolapse. And everyone always comments and says 'wow! That is great strength there!' ...so I am highly strong w that. BUT I know have severe prolapse. Second degree rectal and uterine prolapse and third degree bladder prolapse. (Had a super super fads birth w DS2). I have trouble pooing. I feel like my vagina is going to fall out at any minute and if I sneeze, cough, or vomit I'm pretty much guaranteed to pee myself  ...but darn it if that particular muscle that u kegal with is strong! Thing is it didn't help whatsoever in holding up my pelvic floor

My specialist actually told me Kegals don't prevent prolapse (they used to think it did and even know there's a lot of outdated info floating around). She also said if u do have any prolapse, even if its not as bad as mine, Kegals can worsen it.

W that said my Dh sure lives the kegal action during happy time lol but otherwise Kegals don't help as much as they once thought. ...they now think squatting f is better for prevention but I find that hard to believe since that was always apart of my physical workouts prior and the fact that I squatted to deliver both of my boys.

But it sure does make sex fun! Haha

Sorry about all of those typos  stupid autocorrect!
