The stages of weaning and useful guides?

My chubby little man will be started to be weaned in the next month as guided by my HV .. but I dont have alot of info about 'how' to do it - literature wise.

HV said to start at lunchtime with a spoonful of rice after his milk feed - then eventually swap it round.

Other than that how quickly do i move it along, and how? do u know any guides or websites that are good in showing/telling the stages. I will badger my HV but just wondered what u ladies followed for help?....

I got a HIPP pack/guide through today which has a handy chart in it.

I use Annabel Karmel's Superfoods for babies and children
lots of meal ideas for when they older too

My HV gave me 3 leaflet books with info on stage 1,2 & 3 maybe ask yours if they have them available for you? x

I got a really handy book too so ask HV. i got it when Amelie had her last set of jabs at 16 weeks X
