The Ultimate "Driving Test" Thread!

LulaBug: Havent tried it but read this entire thread lol and saw a few people mention it, i'm going into town tomorrow going to try and hunt some down!

Good luck Kiki!!! Hope you pass :hugs:

Im freaking out right now because my car went for it's MOT this morning and failed big time! So i cant practice and my test is in 6 days!! My instructors last words were 'make sure you get loads of practice in now until your test' --- so now I feel like crap and even more panicky!!:nope:

You can get it in Holland & Barrett Leafy, and I think it's a fiver :) xx

Thanks for the good lucks  It all seems surreal right now like im not going to actually sit it, ive had no practice except lessons so if i fail i will get insured on my sisters car to practice  x

I failed :( within the first 5 minutes, i got 2 serious and a dangerous within the first 5 minutes all at roundabouts...when i calmed down i did a perfect drive and he was like i know it was nerves that got you but i still need to fail you blahblah i was like fuck off :(

oh no :( sorry to hear this hun, did you take anything for your nerves then? i bought the bach rescue remedy today - it actually says on the box it's for driving tests & interviews! They had drops, spray and pastilles. I got the spray. It tastes a bit like whiskey to me! :S but im going to use it next tuesday before my test because i think my nerves will let me down too :(

what did you do wrong at the roundabout? i hate roundabouts!!!! theyre always so busy :(

have you re-booked your test yet?

keep your chin up, we gota beat the nerves!!!!! :flow: xxxx

Well it was the first roundabout i had gone but didnt speed up quick enough, then the second one i knew i had already failed but i was in my lane then i kinda drifted a tiny tiny bit into the right so i went to correct it but he grabbed the wheel from me, he gave me the fright of my life  other than them mistkes i wouldve passed but i was raging because he let me think he didnt fail me coz he knew it was nerves, but i did my manouver and as i turned i saw the serious tick and felt like i could cry.
I took kalms but they worked during the lesson before it but wore off the second i went in for the test
Yeah rebooked it but im not telling anyone, i told alan, mum and sister in law this time round but my sister in law told everyone yesterday and by the morning loads of people had posted good luck so i knew everyone knew and it made me worse :dohh:
I have rebooked it for half 3 in a few weeks but i dont think it will go well because its just as high school kids come out :nope:

That's crappy, doesnt even seem like major reasons to fail someone!!! This is what worries me, i feel they are so strict now and we're only human!!

Maybe next time take a bottle of water and some kalms in your bag and take another dose when you finish the lesson ready for your test...Do you feel any less nervous now that you've done an initial test? Or are nerves still the same thinking of a re-test?

A few people know about my test & i'm kinda regretting telling them as i feel too much is expected of me now!! xxxxx

I'm still quite nervous about my next one, i didnt wanna rebook but he said i should but its like technicaly in that test i failed 3 times and he just explained that i wouldnt have made the mistakes if i hadnt made my first one and wasnt so nervous :/ My lesson before was great and i did the 2 roundabout i failed on before my test, but i did the big roundabouts, slip road, reverse around a corner and dual carriageway great which are what i strugled with so i am just as nervous but because im not telling anyone this time round its not as bad
To be honest i was disgusted by the way the examiner was talking to me, he asked me what i did and i replied "im at college doing childcare" and he was like "why do you need a course for that its common sense" and i was like "its a bit more complicated than that" i felt like saying i dont mock your profession, dont mock mine.
Then he said "go half a car lenght beyond this car" i thought he said "pull alongside" but then he was like "YOUR NOT LISTENING" and i was like "yes i am" he said you wil have to do it at the next car so i did the same thing because he didnt repeat then he started to raise his voice "you arent listening" over and over ..... and then he repeated it slowly (like i was stupid) then i heard properly and was like oh right i hear you now and he sighed :nope:

That's awful he doesnt sound very understanding or sensitive to nervous people at all!! Hopefully you will get a different examiner next time.:hugs:

My nerves are really pissing me off i just know theyre guna screw it up for me!!!! :(

Will post back on Tuesday after my test xx

I really dont want this guy again  if i get him again i wouldnt even want to sit it, he was nasty and insensitive and i could swear he was smiling when he said "sorry you failed" i was like i know ...
But it wasnt as scary once i began to ignore him completely, thats when i started to drive really good, so honestly iff you dont get a good feeling from the person just pretend he/she is not there
Goood luck

I am so sorry to hear you failed Kiki. You are well within your rights to complain about your examiner. That's not on. They are meant to make you feel at ease, not bark at you and make you feel worse.

I will say this, you WILL feel so much better on your 2nd test, simply because you've been through it and you know what to expect, so now you know what to expect, you'll hopefully be ok.

You will still have the nerves, for sure, but not to the degree you had them today.

Think confidently about your next time, draw a line under this one and focus on your next one and remember, we're here to support you, so if you don't want to tell anyone you know but want to vent or whatever, we're here! :flower: xxx

Thanks so much :hugs: I am suprised i didnt cry but i did know the minute it happened so it had sunk in by the end of my test  He was very rude and i might complain just because i dont deserve to be talked to like that, he was the one who failed my fiance and said "your probably the best driver ive seen all week..but youve failed." Not to mention the dig he made at my career choice and also shouting at me because i didnt hear what he was saying  if i get him again i dont know, my nerves would be worse but im hoping to get someone else :hugs:
I didnt want to rebook it today but i decided if i dont do it today i will never do it, so i did but now regretting it ...its just as high school kids get out and i wont be able to get a lesson at this time due to college so the next time i will have a lesson with al the kids out will be on the day of my test
The worse thing is the lesson before was brilliant, i even did the roundabouts i failed on and did them fine, so it was just nerves and he knew that he admitted it but still failed me  I just hope i get my nerves under control for next time :hugs: whens your next one? x

got a mock test today. another guy from the driving school is taking me out. im dreading it, its at 11.45. i dont know if ive got to drive to test centre then do mock from there or what, shouldve asked really lol

oooh only 1 day between our tests lulabug lets hope we are both lucky!

My test is tomorrow morning :( im not feeling up to it at all. What did you all get asked in the show me/tell me bit of your test? Did you struggle with the questions? xxxxxx

I got asked to show him how to test brakes using his help, i just needed to turn on ignition then brake so its really easy :) Good luck, im thinking i will change my date and time .. 3.30 just as high school kids break off doesn't sound appealing to me at all!!

I heard you can book evening tests but its more expensive. It would be so much better for me though because it takes me hours to 'wake up' when i wake up in the morning!!! and my instructor is picking me up at 8:20 am!! this is not good!! i will have to be up by 5am to start shaking the grogginess off! and i'm a crap sleeper too (at the best of times!) so i'm going to be a right old zombie tomorrow. xxxx

Dont worry, so much better to get it outta the way, less time to freak out over it! i was waiting around from 9-2.30 for my test and its gonna be worse if i have to do it at 3.30! then again i will have college to distract me but i dont think its a good idea to do college then lesson then test :/ .. FX'd for you! you will be happy when your not waiting around al day lol x

Hey all - i failed :( The examiner woman braked for me [so i got a dangerous] even though i didnt feel the need for her to have at all. Im so pissed off. She told me she was 'gutted' to have to fail me because the rest of my drive was near perfect with only 1 minor. I feel really ripped off!! Going to book my next test now!! xxxx

Oh im so sorry :( :hugs:
Dont worry i got a dangerous too, he grabbed the wheel (which he isnt even allowed to do i checked) and by doing so he almost crashed me because i was already correcting my mistake ... he didnt even say sorry i ended up apologizing even though he almost killed me!!
Don't worry its just nerves that made you fail!
I find it rather annoying, my examiner said that to me too, after my like 4 minutes of nervous driving it was reallly good and he wouldve passed me if i didnt do that bad begining. Just keep trying, your obviously a good driver! :hugs: I know your sad or angry now and it sucks at the time but don't let it get to you, just remember its just a driving test, you can resit it! :hugs:
