the wright stuff

My LO is having a nap and I am taking 5 mins for myself watching the wright stuff on channel 5.

They are having a discussion about teenage parents.

and I feel the need to say how nice it is to see some positive news about teenage parents for a change.

They are saying that teeange parents are poorly portayed in the papers and in society and that it is unfair. I totally agree. just because a mum is young doesnt make her a bad mum or a sponger.

I agree there are some people who get pregnant just for the council house and the benefits, but I dont think this is the majority at all. I thik the majority of mums get pregnant and just get on with the hand they are delt and good for them.

There was a woman who was saying that her daughter gets filthy looks when out and about cos she is pregnant. I find this disgusting and out of order.

When did it all go so wrong? when did society decide that we should dispise young parents?

I personally think they do ok...

I also think age is mainly irrellevant, there are some really mature young girls who would make excellent mothers & there are older women who just aren't cut out for it at all.

Although I wouldn't encourage teenagers to go out and get pregnant deliberately, accidents do happen & I don't think it's fair to generalise people as each case is different xx

I really hate judgemental people, I mean those people that give dirty looks don't know anything about the person, in any situation like this, not just young pregnancies.

That teenage girl could have been raped, or had a contraceptive failure, or even chosen to have a baby because she was in a secure position to do so. People just assume that all teen girls get pregnant to claim benefits and won't love their children or offer them a good life! This country sucks.
