hi everyone, im 17 and going to be a young mum with a baby girl due in june!at my 12 week scan the nuchal fold of my baby was measured thicker than normal and i was given the odds of 1:30 of my baby having downs syndrome without combined age and blood tests. When the results of the bloods came back my risk was reduced to 1:1020 as the blood work was normal. i was sent for a follow up ultrasound at 14 weeks and everything was looking fine at my 18 week scan, should i be worrying as much as i am, and has anyone had a similar experience and gone on to have a perfect healthy bub! Thanks guys, btw i have no family history of downs syndrome. was actually below average and everything was looking fine at my 18

if everything was looking good at ur 18 week scan hun then i wouldnt worry sounds like baby is healthy :) are they going to keep scanning u through the pregnancy or have they said now that there not worried about the downs risk coz ur scans looked good? xxx

I had a 1 in 100 chance when i was a young mummy to my daughter in 2005 i was petrefied that was based on Nuchal Fold and like you i went on to have scans saying she was fine ..
We decided against more testing and went on to have a beautiful Little girl completely healthy nothing wrong at all :).
Good luck xxxx

the doc hasnt mention any further ultrasounds or screenings at all, he doesnt seem to worried... On the paper i recieved that explained my odds it said "these odds are considered within the boundaries of the general population and no further testing is reccommended"

What was the measurement for the NT? Did they off you an Amnio?
