well i have fought with Fred for a week now with him latching on/off crying/laughing and i think im going to start him on bottles all the time.

the only feed we don't fight over is morning so will see if i can keep that one going. if i spend an hour laying down, getting into different positions etc then he has a feed but i just don't have that time anymore! my OH is still in hospital and will be in plaster on crutches for the next 12 weeks! so i have a busy time ahead with bubba and a man to look after, im sad as not sure why things have changed, tho like i have said in previous posts this last week he has had 2 bottles a day, 1 EBM and 1 formula and he takes them so well, i know im prob giving in to him as its easier for him but i have to be practical too now xx

so what will happen to my milk supply, what do i need to do? would still like to do our morning feed, will this work? just have the emotional guilt to deal with now :hissy: xx

:hugs: you have done amazingly well.

If you still want to continue with that 1 feed per day then you can your supply won't diminish overnight. I have just recently switched Amelia pretty much completely over to Formula as i am going back to work in a couple of weeks. I still feed her myself in the morning though and my supply is just fine.

To be honest as much as i have loved b/fing and if i didn't have to go back to work i probably would still continue, BUT it is so nice having the freedom to not worry so much about being the only person that can feed her.

You have given him a brilliant start and having an unstressed mummy looking after him is a whole lot better than a stressed mummy.

The best way to switch is to do 1 feed per day but you already give a couple of bottles so it should be a bit easier for you. What you don't want to do is stop cold turkey because you will become engorged and it will be painful.

xx

You've done a grand job honey!!

If you want to avoid engorgment you can just ease off a feed at a time over a week or so. You can definately keep your morning feed too. When I go back to work properly in Sept, I'm gonna keep morning and bedtime feeds. :D

Well done you!! xx

you girls are lovely thanks for your support! i have loved feeding Fred and so glad i persevered past those first couple of weeks xxx:hug:
