Thinking about DIY - any advice please?

Hi all

Well we have just DTD and poor DH couldn't climax again

So I'm thinking seriously about inseminating. But I have some questions.

Does it actually work?
How easy is it to "use"?
Where do I buy a kit from?

I said I wouldn't go down this route but I just can't bear putting DH under so much pressure. It's been two long years now. He really struggles to perform every other day during fertile time and I hate to see him upset.

Would this really be a viable option?

It might be a bit personal but can he finish through masturbation?
If so then insemination should be fine to try. There are a couple of threads in the assisted conception forum about it and a lesbian ttc thread which is also helpful.

It definitely works as my dh can't finish during sex so we used a syringe and got pregnant 2nd cycle ttc. Unfortunatly we had a mc but are trying again.

It must be hard for men to have to perform on cue and as we can't just bd and hope for the best, we have to plan insemination dates to coincide with ovulation. It does put pressure on him so the rest of the month we just have fun and only worry about finishing 3-4 times around ovulation.

I found it best to leave DH totally in the dark about when I'm ovulating he really wants a baby and he said it was a lot of pressure when I will tell him things about it. So basically he knows for about a week and a half we at least every other day and sometime in that timespan is my fertile time. So things like pressed and the soft cups I use every time so nothing seems different (in terms of the prep) lol

This really helped him. He no longer worries about when his guys are really needed to do their thing, he calls it my horny time of the month. Lol

thanks for your reply, i'll definitely look at those links later when i've more time. Yes he can finish by hand but not once he's got to that point when he's struggling while we're BD'ing. Which is why I was thinking of maybe just once or twice during fertile time we can do this instead so as not to put pressure on him to "perform"!

Thanks for your reply! He doesn't know when I'm ov'ing. Like yourself I just tell him "ok so we need to try and BD every other day for a week and a bit" and that way he doesn't know exactly when ov is but he even struggles with that. He admits that he does struggle to have sex every other day. I guess he's just not got a very high sex drive. So I'm hoping to take some pressure off him by trying this.

One thing that might help him is u seduce him after he's gone asleep, sleepy men tend to be more horny i guess u can say. Hence those that like morning sex. Or if u can wake up before him. And don't tell him when ur fertile.

im in the same boat (my DH has a a disease that doesnt allow him to feel) so he can only finish by himself....weird I know. Either way, i ve read lots about it and it seems to be very possible. Just dont wait to long to inseminate. And you should have approx the same chances as everyone else. Try preseed and things like taht to put the chances on your side.
You can get a kit at most pharmacies (otherwise a normal syringe can do the job) just make sure to use proper cleaning after each use. Good luck!!! baby dust to you!

Thanks hun. I've ordered some plastic syringes off ebay so we should be able to use them next cycle!
