Alright so I knew already my baby was tiny. That she was going to be tiny. I already knew this. Her last ultrasound she was measuring just over 2lbs instead of 3-4lbs.

My doctor just called me, and is scheduling me for regular nonstress tests, like, twice a week to monitor Lyla, and said they will be monitoring everything a bit closer now.

She said my amniotic fluids levels are fine, just baby is really little.

If I already knew she was little/going to be little, why am I suddenly freaking out on the inside??

What is a nonstress test???

A non stress test is a test where they monitor the baby's heart beat, contactions and baby movement. I also had my baby at 35 weeks due to no growth and low AF. I was booked for NST every couple of days and weekly scans. As soon as they saw that the baby just wasnt getting any bgger i had a c-section. If you go to the thread "help Low AF and growth at 32 weeks" here on the gestational complications section you can read mine and a couple others similar experience.

Best of luck and really there is no need to freak out!

I know...I'm working on breathing. I knew she was going to be small to start with cuz she has SUA (single umbilical artery) and I am a high risk pregnancy.

Also, I am very small. Her daddy is quite tall though so I was hoping that would balance out. But I was a 9lb baby and he was a 6lb baby so there's really nothing to go off there...

I think the non stress test is the CTG monitor. Basically you will have to half sit half lie in bed in hospital and have straps put round your middle that hold sensors on your tummy and this provides a trace of the baby's heartrate, any uterine activity and also detects babies movements and prints it out on paper for the doctors to see. You are usually hooked up to it for about half an hour at a time I think although if baby doesn't move as much as they would like they will leave you attached longer to check movements pick up as baby could just have been asleep.

Also thanks to you Lottie, your thanks button isn't appearing!

found it!
