We use distilled water half when we are in the city since even boiling the tap water seems unsanitary to me...We leave it at room temperature but are very careful with it--if anything touches the cap or it seems for any reason to be unsanitary then we use it as our drinking water instead.
We do this because LO will NOT drink cold formula, and it takes so long to heat it up under the faucet that by the time it is warm enough he has worked himself into such a tizzy that he has to be calmed to eat, it just doesn't work for us. We just got a bottlewarmer though, which only takes a minute to warm up so we don't have to worry about that anymore though Hope this helps.
I buy the gerber baby water and it says to refrigerate it and I freaked out when I read this because I hadn't ever done that. She was already like a month old and was fine so I never refrigerated it. My pediatrician laughed at the fact that I buy baby water and he said it's a total scam and the baby can just drink the water that I drink and will survive just fine (I drink reverse osmosis) I still buy baby water lol, but I don't worry about refrigerating as I'm probably already being over paranoid!
