Love it, agree with you think Elka is nicest. Can always use Elkie as a nickname if you want. Also just noticed that your little girls name is Poppy so Poppy and Elkie might be a bit much. up to you of course though. it's a sweet name, i never heard of it

No.Was my husbands idea but think he got it from a book or a website. I'm still not 100% convinced yet!

Hi,

I like Elka, Elkie in South Afrika is a short word for alcoholic so I don't like the name Elkie. But Elka is very nice and it is not a very commom name.

I worked with a lady called elke (pronounce elka) but everyone mispronounced it Elkie because of the spelling. Anyway i think elka is nicer than elkie.x

Ha ha, don't worry! Elkie was never really a contender, I just thought I'd throw it in the mix anyway Glad everyone seems to like Elka though. At least now we have ONE name on our possibles list!!
