I really love the name River for a boy but I am trying to look at it from other peoples perspectives. I am pregnant with twins, I had the private NIPT test which showed y chromosone is present so we know one or both are boys. Could be a boy and a girl though so firstly whats your thoughts on River for a boy and what boy/girl names for the other twin?

I had thought Willow! but my mums dog who we are around often is called Willow!

River and Phoenix

:haha:

I like River and Summer together, but I would personally be turned off by the fact that River Phoenix actually had/has a sister named Summer. Also, together they sound a bit too hippie-like to me, so I would probably steer clear of any nature-y names for the other twin that are too literal. I would also hate it the names were two hippie matchy matchy (like above stated River and Summer) and I would have to answer questions about River Phoenix everytime I introduced my kids.

I like River and Hunter for boys, and River and Stella or River and Holly for a boy and a girl.

I like river. I have a Rio which translates to river 😀

My husband has mentioned the name River quite a few times but I just thought that the name wouldn't suit with siblings names. I do like it though. I love Daisy for a girl and even though I'm not a fan of the name Hunter but when pp mentioned River and Hunter I think they go together.

River and Eden? I like the pp suggestion of River and Hunter. I think Rowen goes well too, as either a boy or girl name.

Thanks My teenage son is called Logan and my three yr old daughter is called Rayna. I dont want too many R's but I happen to really like Rowan too! I dont want river to sound too hippyish so I would not go for two hippyish names. I have a friend with a Hunter so wouldnt go for that name. Thanks for all the suggestions!

I love Rowan! I always thought of it as a boys name but there's a little girl in my daughter's nursery called it, and it's so pretty.

How about an L name to keep the balance? Lilith, Lennon, Layla, Lyra, Lachlan, Laith, Laurel, Leo, Lydia.

River is a pretty cool name. Our DD is called Molly-Rose, so I don't think it goes with her name, although it's probably ok with just Molly. Although I think it goes lovely with Skye for a girl & maybe Jude, Cole, Cash, Bailey or Riley for a boy. Your suggestion of Hunter sounds good too.
