Thoughts on this name..

I agree about Calais, although I like the name, I would perhaps spell it differently, and I would say it would be Cal for short which is nice.

I like Vienna!! It's pretty! and different!

I like vienna too!
I love place names, - Paris, Cai (cairo) etc.
How about these:

Madeliene
Charlotte
Leon (Lyon)
Roxanne (Roanne)

I think Calais is lovely, I think it could be a unisex name.

I think the concept is nice, but Calais is not a very pretty French town and is just full of bargain booze supermarkets and immigrants trying to get under a lorry into the UK!

I like Fabian for a boy. I think that's French and you can have Fabienne for a girl.

I live in a town where there's a ferry port so it just reminds me of that.. sorry!
I like Vienna though :D

I've been drawn to French names for girls too. Remy, Leonie, Noelle, Aurelia, Elodie, Cecily....so many pretty names!

i dont think much of this name sorry:(X

I'm afraid I think of the port, too - sorry! :flower: However I do really like Callie/Cally.
My great great aunt had the middle name Amiens - it's the name of a village in northern France (on the route from Calais to Paris - lol!) its where her dad was fighting at the time of her birth in the first world war, but think it maybe too much like Amelie! My brother and sister in law really liked the name of the village they live in as a baby name, but thought it was a bit naff to name them that whilst still living in the village, so it's on the shortlist for if they have anymore once they move!
