Is it taking anyone else this long to establish a good latch and feed!! eeek! I thought it would get easier! My baby is 6 days old today. She feeds very well once we get there and poos etc.. but did anyone else experience this? Im tryin not to lose heart :)

Hell yeah! I used to have to give Leo a bath to calm him down and then try again! But now I dont even look he just gets on and feeds for 10 mins and thats it! Its so worth it so keeps going!

Oh yes. I remember evenings when my son would nurse from 6-10 pm, I would switch him from side to side and back. He would nurse and sleep, nurse and sleep. It just a phase and she will grow out of it. Right now she is have to work for food for the first time. All those little mouth and jaw muscles have not had to be used, and they get tired easily. Plus her tummy is still really tiny, so it takes little to fill it, but since it is a liquid diet it doesn't take long to process it. Just find a comfy place, in bed or on the sofa. Get set up with water, the remote, books and such, and settle in. It won't last forever, and to be honest, there are times I really miss spending hours just curled up with my son.

Everything the girls have said is soooo true - its early days and they get much more efficient with time. Today I have been out Christmas shopping and only stopped to feed. There was nowhere convienient to feed so I found an empty bench in the shopping centre and managed to get her up under my poncho and she just latched herself on and nursed for 10 mins and we were off again!!!! I thought to myself how easy it was and how far we've come - hang in there Mama!!! :hugs:

You guys are so sweet! Thanks for the reassurance. My ma is giving her a bath now so its about time for her feed!! here we go...

The first few weeks are defo the hardest hang in there mumma it will get better i promise x x
