ok so my OH has lots of younger siblings and i cut up an apple for his five year old brother. turned my back for a milli second and he was holding it for LO so she could suck it. FIL and OH were in the room and thought it was hilerious so didnt stop it right away but i wasnt amused when i saw. it was a large chunk so wasnt a choking hazzard but i dont plan on weaning until six months and im worried about the acidity. im sure shel be fine but can someone please reassure me!

need eyes like hawks around all these kids!!!!

Julian sucked on a slice of lemon around 4 months. He's fine

i know she will be fine am just worried she might get the runs or something because the acidity might effect her tummy, thats all. but a lemon is much more acidic :haha:

I let Lilly suck on an apple at 4months. She was fine, no digestive problems.

Shouldn't do her any harm at all. My doctor actually advised me to give LO apple or orange juice mixed with water when she was 3 months old to relieve constipation so it can't be that bad!

At least it was an apple and not chocolate! :haha:

And she'll be fine, apples are actually pretty good for the stomach.

She'll be absolutely fine! My little boy had a spoon of apple puree before every feed from 3 weeks old and it did him no harm..in the short.term atleast..
Just to add before anyone jumps on me..no i was not weaning..it was due to medical condition x

I let LO suck on a bit of an orange at 3 months . Did her no harm and she loves it
