I've been BF for a week now properly, and so far things have been ok.

But the last couple of days my left nipple feels much more sore. Sort of burning, and sometimes there's a sharp pain. I've been applying lansinoh cream, which sort of helps, but otherwise that nipple has times when it feels really uncomfortable. It's normally after i've finished feeding - when she;s latched on it's actually not so bad.

Do you think this could be thrush? And how does your GP diagnose it? I've looked at the list of symptoms and it seems hard to tell, as so many symptoms seems like ordinalry BF'ing pains as well!!

My LO has thrush and they thought I did too, nipples were cracked, sore when she bf and my boobs itched. I say go get checked out and your LO just in case so you can both get treated as if you have it can spread down below on both of you. Good luck

if it is thrush you need to stop using the lansinoh cream as it actually can make it worst. yeast needs three things to thrive, moisture, warmth and dark... the lansinoh cream locks in moisture so it can make it worse.

Go get checked out right away because it won't go away on it's own and it can get VERY VERY painful (trust me, I've been fighting it for weeks)

My nipples felt like they were burning too for a couple of weeks and I was using Lansinoh after every feed too. If you had thrush in your nipples, I think that Poppy would have it in her mouth too and you'd see it. I think the burning sensation you've got it quite normal and your nipples are just getting used to breastfeeding. Mine are fine now and don't burn/hurt at all, and i've not used Lansinoh for 2 weeks now. They are still quite sensitive to touch... I flinch when a towel so much as touches them when I get out of the shower!!
