I've just noticed I've got one, right on my bum cheek of all places. TMI i know but popped it yesterday and white puss came out but its stil not gone. i didn't know your not supposed to pop them until i googled last night. Its only small but i read on google if your pregnant and get one you need to see your dr for antibiotics. Do i really need to go and show my GP, anyone got any experience ?

Thanks :flower:

Ive had one, but not while i was preg, it was right on my lady bits, soo painfull ! I ended up popping mine too, i would see your doc though as your preg, you dont want to risk any infection x

I had a big spot on my bum which I assumed was just a spot. This was 2 weeks ago. I squeezed it, and puss came out. It's now almost gone - just a red spot mark. It was big and hard though and lots of gunk come out (sorry tmi) so I'm now wondering if it was a boil?! I had no idea I might need antibiotics to get rid of it. How can you tell for certain if something is boil or spot - especially since it's nearly gone?! xxx

icklemonster, boils are usually hard and red and get a white head. Sounds like you've had one. I'm sure not everyone whos had a boil during pregnancy has gone to see their GP. I just don't wanna not go and something happen. Do you think i could just tell them and not show them. I know it definately is one.

I have just read this about boils - I agree it does sound like I had one. From what I've read on this link if mine is healing I should be OK although If yours is still inflamed I would go docs xxx https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/Boils/Pages/Introduction.aspx

I would either see your doc or maybe call your midwife ? Just to be on the safe side, also it might help to bathe it with salt water ? I dont think it should cause you any probs though x

Thanks. After reading this i dont really think i need it to be seen by the GP. Its nowhere near the size of a 20p and its only been there a few days, a week at the most. It does look like it will go away on its own. Will mention it to the midwife tomorrow though, how embarassing lol.

I am so glad you said this. I quite often get these :blush::blush::blush::blush::blush::blush: they are painful, and I always end up popping mine too, which I find actually helps them heal faster as long as I ply it with an antiseptic cream.

Omg lol, i only had it the one time an it blew up like a baloon lol, but same after i popped it it was fine, was painfull to even sit down till i popped it

No i didnt as it came up so quickly within two days, and once i popped it, it seemed fine, i was only about 17 at the time too, if it hadnt gone down i probably would of though because of the pain, how has yours been since you popped it hun? The only reason i sujested you see your doc is because your preg, and if your worried, hope i didnt scare you ! Sorry, mine was fine after it went down x

It has gone flatter but don't really want to try and pop it again.

I had one of these too, although not while pregnant. Mine was on my bum as well and I ended up having to have surgery to make sure it was all out. It was quite the procedure. They tried antibiotics with me and even that didn't make it go away. Of course that isn't really an option when pregnant. But I know what a pain is the butt (literally) it can be :(

oh my goodness! i just got one of these! i havent had one in YEARS on my bum! go pregnancy!
