to hcg trigger or not?

Here's the deal - ttc after two back to back miscarriages. I have one dc who I conceived using clomid and no intervention/monitoring (my GP prescribed it). For the past two pregnancies that ended, I used clomid but was also monitored by an RE. When the follicles were at the right size according to the RE, I got an hcg trigger and then did timed intercourse and used progesterone suppositories. Both of those obviously ended poorly. So now here I am trying again. I am on day 11 and doc saw two perfectly sized follicles that he wanted to trigger. I'm hesitant to do it again -- when I didn't trigger, it resulted in my healthy dc. But I usually don't ovulate until ~day16 and doc says by then the follicles will be too big/overripe -- I have no clue how big they were with my son since I wasn't getting monitored. Any advice on what to do?
