Since I'm BFing my 5 week old, my toddler is very curious about breasts. She never BFed because she was a preemie, was gavage/bottle fed in the NICU, and experienced total breast rejection. She is very new to the idea of nursing.

She has, within the last week, started grabbing and my poking my boobs whenever I hold her, and I'm not sure how to deal with it. Yes, they are a source of food for little brother, so he gets access to them, but since she has absolutely no interest in nursing, I want to try to send a message that mommy's boobs belong to mommy and they aren't for poking and grabbing. It's just very hard to make such a case to an 18 month-old when she sees that little brother gets full access.

Anyone have any tips? I've tried "yes, those are mommy's breasts…" and then distracting her, but the more I try to divert her attention, the more grabby she gets :/

try to occupy her hands when your holding her by her holding a toy talking with her about the toy and encourage the closeness without the focus being on your breasts
