Toilet trained but...

Hi, does anyone have experience or advice? My daughter is 4 and has been toilet trained in the day for two years. However, she has started to wet herself again in school. Her dad thinks it's been happening since last term (so not a new thing or stress) She doesn't seem to notice her need to wee so when she does realise she's desperate and can't get her knickers down in time.

I think it's because she's playing and not paying attention. She doesn't really do it at home although she still leaves it to the last minute and is jigging around when she goes.

Do I need to take her to the doctor or can I do something to help her realise her need?? Any advice or suggestions welcome

My 5 year old has been saving it to the last minute a few times recently. I think when potty training, kids experiment with how long they can hold it, but as they get older, they forget their earlier experiments. Therefore, the behavior returns when it seems like they should have long mastered the skill. I remember when Violet had an accident recently, I commented that you can only hold it so long and then the pee comes out. She responded "I didn't know that." I wouldn't say the behavior you've described is unusual at 4 unless she seems honestly shocked or surprised by the accidents. If she's genuinely surprised, I'd look into a medical cause such as constipation.

No advice but my five year old is suddenly having regular poo accidents! We've had five today. He says he doesn't know why he does them and I have no idea what to do!

I would maybe suspect constipation.
