Told to have a 25 week appointment, but not first baby? (UK)

At my last midwife appointment, as I was leaving the midwife told me to come back next at 25 weeks. Looking through my notes, this says it's for first time mums only?

I had dd2 with me, so it was obvious I wasn't a first time mum.

Could it be because at that point in time I still had my sch clot and was actively bleeding they wanted an extra appointment?

Anyone else had a 25 week appointment with a 2+ baby in uk?

This is my second and I have my next appointment at 29 weeks. I'd say it probably because of the bleeding etc maybe they just want to keep a check to make sure all is ok. I wouldn't worry too much.

My MW said to make a 25wk apt if I wanted to, if I needed any reassurance or had any questions she said it didn't really matter.


If you've had issues, I guess they would not want to leave it 8 weeks !

I last saw my midwife at 16wks and have to see her again at 24wks. I can't imagine her missing it out as that woul leave like 12wks between appointments x

Mine was 16w then booked in for 24w but im on holiday so going at 22w. She said after next appt she will see me every 4w this is how it was with 1st & 2nd

In my notes it said 25 week home visit for first pregnancy. But I had to have it. I didn't mind the more appointments the better. When she said about booking it I said this is my second pregnancy but they said they still do it.

I had my 25 week appointment this week a I'm on my 2nd too. My notes also said 25 weeks was for 1st time mums and it was 28 weeks for subsequent babies but she still told me to book it so I did. I wouldn't worry about it too much x

My next mw appointment will be at 22 wks and this is my second. I have bad spider veins on my leg and she just wants to see me sooner to check on how they are doing. I took my son with me too, so she hasn't missed the fact I'm a second timer. She didnt even want me to wait until 25wks. She wanted to see me a few weeks after my 20wk scan.

I was booked for 28 weeks as my next appointment after booking, but I'm under consultant care. Even so she crossed the primps weeks out in back of my book.

My last was at 16 weeks and my next will be 28 weeks. I think this is a long time in my case, since I am high risk and supposed to be having regular blood pressure checks due to risk of Pre-E but I'm also having regular consultant scans from 24 weeks so Im happy to do that x

Sisterrose how often do you see your consultant? My hospital let pre e escalate into full e last time so im very high risk. I had previous gyne issues as well as thyroid issues, im under endo care though because i flat out refuse the gyne consultant again who let it escalate. I see her 6weekly and have 3 extra scans booked then weekly bp from 34 weeks. Last pregnancy i was seen every 4 weeks so seems strange they go longer without seeing me this time when there's more issues and they've told me it'll be a miracle if i don't get it again.

Odd. I last saw mine about 18 week and don't see her again until 28 weeks.

I've got one at 25 weeks with my second too. She told me it was just to keep a closer eye on me due to having high BP & blood clots in my previous pregnancy. I'm also under consultant care at the hospital, although they don't want to see me again until I'm 28 weeks! I have got 2 growth scans though before then.

Oh no, that's awful! I hope they keep a closer eye on you this time. At least you know what to look out for and know when to go in and make them do something.
In my last pregnancy I saw the consultant once until 28 weeks when babies growth started to trail off and I had a doppler scan every week with growth every second week and saw the consultant every 2 weeks from around 30 weeks

This time the consultant did my 20 week scan so she could look at my placenta and found there is reduced blood flow to it so insufficient which is why I seem to have growth problems, but also it causes a higher risk of pre-e and i do have blood pressure problems in pregnancies too but nothing thats gotten serious so far *touch wood* I am seeing the conultant for growth scans from 24 weeks this time and if growth is affected again i think it'll be every 2 weeks until birth again x

Sounds like they're going to take care of you well this time . I was lucky enough to get it at 37 weeks last time but im 22 weeks tomorrow and can feel it starting already now. Hopefully the asprin will help as i don't fancy another week in hdu due to seizures. Hope it all goes smoothly for you and bubs grows well x
