tommee tippee and other teats

I have the closer to nature tommee tippee bottles and currently using medium and fast flow teats as my three week old is on aptamil and the formula is thick. However the milk doesnt flow freely through the teat and i have to keep messing around with it to get the milk to flow!

Does anyone know of other teats that fit onto tommee tippee bottles; anyone whose baby is on aptamil who has this problem?!

Hrrm, my baby was on Aptimil when we were using TT bottles. We found the stage 2 teats to be fine for her (at the same age as your LO). Is it the Aptimil comfort she's on, or the normal formula? The comfort one needed the stage 3 teats, and even then, sometimes blocked.

Make sure the anti-colic valves aren't stuck shut (just squeeze the edges to unseal them), as that can make the teats suck shut.

I found size 2 were fine with cow and gate comfort milk....now we're using soy formula which is not thick mirren is now back to size 1.

im using teats 2 , 3 and anti colic teats, but they are always getting blocked! even if i try and unblock them they block! so my lil one is taking in more air by trying harder to suck the milk out. When she does manage to get the milk it comes out to fast and she struggles.

I use variflow teats on my TT bottles. They work with any formula - the cross cut opens up more if LO sicks a bit harder. I used the same teats with cow & gate first and comfort, which are completely different thicknesses. I know people who have used them from birth through to weaning. It makes life sooo much easier.

One thing to watch - I'm currently waiting on replacements from TT for some of mine that have split because they put the wrong instructions in the pack - when cleaning them you must not use a bottle brush - either dishwasher them or clean with your hands. I check mine every time before I use them now.

And like Eala said, make sure the valve isn't stuck, or nothing much will come out!

The vary flow teats are fab. I use them with my son now, cause teat2 was too slow for him and teat3 too fast.

I still use the size 1 teats.....? My LO seems quite content and I've never had a problem with blockages?

My LO was BF for three weeks so is used to sucking harder so I guess that's why?

So thats why all my variflow teats split...grrr! Blooming wrong instructions! I already emailed tt to complain about their bottles I've spent a fortune on bottles and teats finally gave up and am using tesco's bottles with size two teats!

Im on aptimel stage 3 and was on number 2 teats but thought coz of LO age i should swop to number 3. These kept collapsing on themselves though as he sucked so have gone back to number 2 hmmm
