hi does anyone use tommee tippee anti colic bottles? Yes the ones that cost around £10 for a pack of 2!!!
Well ive been using them now for a few weeks, and today discovered the wee rubber bit that fits over the plastic tube inside the bottle to be floating around the milk whilst feeding my baby!!! Fished it out, put it back on, only for it to happen again.... fished it out and felt it was very slack and then noticed a slit at the tip so obviously no use... in the bin.... then whilst washing my bottles today found another one the same but wasnt burst ... it just kept fallin off!!! I am really angry, my baby was very windy after drinking through the bottle since he was probably taking in lots of air till i noticed it!!!

Customer servicicees are closed but i will be callin tomorrow.. anyopne else had this problem?
Im also going to complain about my tommee tippee flask that decides to leak when it feels like it!! (not very good since its full of boiling water!!)

Grrr this happened to ALL my TT anti colic bottles!!!! Drove me up the wall, i must have taken them back 3 or 4 times and I had about 10!

Went thru loads! It happened to every single one of them and they leaked then!

I would take them back and get DR BROWNS hun they are fab at preventing colic, they were a life saver for us and Eva. Not any more expensive either than TT. They are £10 for a pack of 2 and 100 times better!!! Also they fit into the TT electric steraliser too.

I used to use them. The slit is meant to be there!! You need to rub the rubber thing between your fingers so the slit is open thats what stops the air bubbles getting up the tube! to be honest after using them for a few months the things come off anyway!! I complained to cs and they said they had had no other complaints! (which I knew they had!) and sent me some replacement valves!

Hope this helps!

oh and also i found the little rubber thing kept splitting and it shouldnt be like that as the new ones i kept getting didnt have a slit!
There quite pants really, didnt find they helped at all with colic, Dr Browns all the way!

no my others dont have the slip either??? does anyone else know if it should be there or not? my bottles also leak its horrible... actually my baby doesnt have colic but he had a few windy days so i tried these bottles and found a big difference so continued to use... his wind comes up quickly on these bottles which is good... if only they werent so unreliable... i'll see if customer services help and re emburse me and ill try dr browns... i dont think i can take back to asda as i have no boxes and no receipt :(

Oh poo yeah try CS they should send u out replacements or re-imburse u as they did this for the steam steraliser that everyone was having problems with!
They definately shouldnt have the split hun (if its the small clear plastic thing at the end of the tube ur talking about)

yewh thats the bit im talking about... i wouldnt assume it should have a slit as that caused the milk to leak in through the tube??
What was the problem with the steam stearlilisers? I have that too !!

Btw Kirsty, my baby was born 16/7/10 only a few days between our little ones :) xx

Ive used them for about 4 months. I thought the slit thing was always there? I've got 6 and all of them had them since when i got them! My bottles didnt start falling apart till about a month ago but it only happens when my OH makes the bottles. He always makes them when the water has just boiled but i wait for it to cool a bit, he has come up with a theory that its something to do with the pressure of the water cooling after its been boiling hot and making it expand, haha.

p.s, does anyone have any idea when im supposed to stop using them and can go back to the normal ones? I keep thinking that i could have done it weeks ago but im scared that LO will start screaming all the time again, which im sure is probably unlikely haha

Cant say i've had the same problem i love mine (i have 12 lol) the only prob i have with then is the lids are either too loose or a bit to snug x

Ahhh so there is!!!

The prob with the steraliser is that the light keeps breaking but apparently its to do with it being over worked if its not de scaled every month!
I didnt even realise u had to de scale it! I range CS and if i sent the unit to them they would refund and send replacement but i just took it back to boots as had receipt!

This happened with mine too! I binned them straight away, certainly wont be buying any more. Its a joke really as they sooooo expensive.

They all have the slit or it wouldn't be a valve. You just need to give it a little squeeze.

Sometimes there's an airlock that causes them to come off, other times a bump or shaking to stir can make it come off. I stopped shaking the bottles and rubbed/rolled them to and fro between my palms.

Hth

Im using them too. I love them. I switched from the Breast Flow bottles to the TT ones. All of mine have a slit in them, brand new out the box. I have yet to have an issue with them. Gabriel also gets windy, but I think that these bottles make it easier to get it out. His colic like behavior has went WAYYYY down.

Good luck!Xx

The slit should be there. You're supposed to make sure it's open before you sterilise it so the teat doesn't collapse.
But yes, mine all fell off too. I think they lasted 5 or 6 weeks. I've used MAM since and theyre much better

The slit is absolutely meant to be there. It's a one-way valve to let air out from the tube in the centre, without letting milk get drawn up into the tube. This was a common problem we had with Dr Browns bottles, especailly as my LO started taking more and more milk. The other issue we had with DB is that they only go up to 8oz, and if you try to put anymore in, they leak everywhere!

We switched to the Anti Coli plus bottles to see if they'd work (I figured they operated on the same principle) and they have been fab for us. You do need to give the valve (rubber thing) a squeeze after you wash it, to make sure the slit can open and let the air through, otherwise it can pop off, or the teat will collapse. But that's much less hassle for us than having half an oz of milk being drawn up into the valve each feed!

They are supposed to have a slit...it does sat this on instructions for use. You rub it to open. X

Sorry havnt read the rest but dont throw them away they are supposed to have the slit thats how the air escapes the tube to make the bottle work, it lets air out but not milk in (without it milk fills the tube and leaks everywhere)

The rubber disk gets weakened if you use hot water to make the bottles up or pops off if the indide gets wet, all you have to do is get a bit of tishue and dry inside the disk.
Mine does it 1-2 times a week but I find drying it works.

They are ment to have a slit, all new ones need to be pinched to opne the slit up if the slit isnt opened then the teats collapse and makje the whole anti colic part pointless as its creating presure within the bottle
