Tommee Tippee Anti Colic Plus Bottles?

Has anyone used these and if so, what do you think of them? Think Jessica has a touch of colic so I want to change her bottles, only reason I would go for tommee tippee rather than Dr Brown is that I have the TT steriliser.

Also, with regards to the tommee tippee teat size, Jessica is still using size 1 on the closer to nature. She is 7 weeks old tomorrow. When will she need the next size up?

Thanks :flower:

You can fit Dr Brown's bottles in the TT steriliser, if that's any help? At least, the steam steriliser you can, that's the only one I've used!

We used Dr Brown's for ages, and then switched to the TT anti-colic + ones purely because they can hold more. My LO had moved up to taking 8oz bottles, which comes to more like 9oz of liquid (ish) when you add the powder to the water. The Dr Brown's bottles only hold 8oz all-in, so we ended up with them leaking everywhere :dohh:

I'd say the two are much of a muchness. It's really the same design. One nice little feature of the TT bottles is that they have a little cap/one-way valve thing which you put on the bottom of the pipette. This stops the milk being drawn up into the pipette by the vacuum, which happened a lot in Dr Brown bottles (one of the reasons they leak!). It also means you can be a bit more vigorous when swirling the TT bottles to mix the formula. The downside is that sometimes this valve gets stuck shut, so the teat collapses when baby tries to feed. I find that giving the valve a good pinch and a bit of a wiggle before I sterilise it solves this problem 90% of the time.

I guess overall, I'd come down on the side of the TT bottles, for all that Dr Browns were a godsend for us when we first started using them :)

We use the TT anticolic plus, I love them and they work a treat. They come with anticolic size 1 teats and we still use those just fine with comfort milk and Elle is like a different baby now, both together have worked miracles. No milk ever gets sucked up the middle like some people seem to have with Dr B's

xx

Thanks for the replies ladies:flower: really helpful  will definitely be investing in some tommee tippee anti colic bottles for sure xxx

Um i wasnt so keen on them so much so i threw them out. Do you mean the ones with the little tube inside the bottle? If so the rubber end was forever falling off in the bottle and causing milk to go everywhere when you shook it. Also if they did fall off they were hard to put back on too.

Wow, I've been using these bottles for a couple of months now, and have never ever had the rubber valve fall off.

Sounds like you might have had a bad batch!

me neither ive found them brill bit of a pain trying to put em together when sterilised but as long as hands are very clean i just do it like that.

I used them they were great  but i also had some problems with the valve coming off. x

i bought my tt anti colic bottles from xpinkness87x and they have been fab, we havent had any problems at all. as lottiemay2010 said, they can be fidly putting them together while trying to not touch them much, i wash my hands and then use anti bacterial gel before putting them together x

We used the TT anti-colic plus bottles & they were brilliant...for about 4 months and then the little plastic bit at the bottom of the tube kept falling off & the milk just poured out of the bottles :/

Thank you for your replies ladies, I really appreciate it :hugs: xxx
