i know they're meant to be sterilised along with the bottles etc but i don't get how exactly?

whenever i put them in the steriliser, the usual condensation inside the dispenser happens but i always end up wiping them out with a tea towel as they never seem to dry out which defeats the object of sterilising them, and i leave the condensation in the dispenser like i do with the bottles due to the powder mixing with it...

any advice?

I dont think they need to be sterilised, just washed and dried. The milk powder you put in them isnt sterile, so not really much point in the containers being sterile! xx

I always sterilised them (don't know why now really reading that last post :haha:) but I'd take them out of the steriliser when they were hot and they'd dry really quick!

Xxx

I do the same as Gemble, take them out still hot, shake the excess moisture out and then stand them on the side and they're dry within a couple of hours and ready to use again. :)

i did this too...but i got mine from a friend with no instructions so now im reading this and going errr.... but as skunkpixie said formula itself isnt sterile, so im not sure on it all to be honest...i also have an avent 3 way dispenser and that would not fit into my steriliser so...AHH!

I sterilise them too (although the above post makes a lot of sense!) and when I cant wait for them to dry I wipe them dry with some kitchen roll. Dont know why but it seems 'better' to do it with that than a tea towel which will be used a few times and on other things also x

I don't sterilise mine, thought never even crossed my mind!

If they get a mucky I'll wash them in hot soapy water, leave to drain and then wipe dry with kitchen roll to get any last drops out. I wash them out every other day or so.

I never ever sterilized mine but I didn't start using formula til 6 months so didn't think it necessary for something not directly going in their mouth.just soap and water

I use kitchen roll to wipe it out or let it air dry? Thats probably making it not sterile tho! I dont' use mine that much tbh!

When DD was very young, I would put mine in the microwave steriliser with the bottles, take everything out as soon as it was done and put them on a clean tea towel to air dry. If I needed it in a hurry, I would use paper towel to dry it.

never sterilised them- if you make your formula with the hot water cooled to 70 degrees then any nastys in the formula and the container should be taken care of.
