Hi Ladies

Do any of you have any similar experiences......

Noah is taking ages at his feeds 45min-1hour and constantly falling asleep, he is putting on weight fine and today weighed 11lb 10oz

Has anyone experienced this and do you think I should move a teat size up as he is only 7 weeks today, or maybe try a different bottle

THanks

aidens 10weeks this week and i upped the teat size at about 2weeks old though because he moved to comfort milk but i would but if he dosent take to it you can keep them until he needs them anyways :)

Thanks ladies, ill give it a go

Updated: just checked tommee tippee website and they are doing a variflow teat with the one usual hole plus a cross which opens up to the strength of baby's suck, so the more/harder they suck the more they get, gonna give this one a try

We used the variflow teats and it really helped LO get the milk as she used to suck so hard on size 1 teats that they almost got sucked inside out if you know what I mean! Just one word of warning with variflow - be careful how you wash them with the bottle brush as for the past few weeks, LO has been choking on her milk and spraying it across the room. We thought it was just a phase she was going through until we checked the teats :dohh:and they had broken open through cleaning them to hard with the bottle brush!

I had the same issue with my LO. I upped the teat size and feeds went from 45 mins to 1.5 hrs to 30 mins:winkwink: I changed size at 6 weeks and she had no issues with them.

Definetly try it:winkwink:

Do you mean your little one took even longer on the size up until she got used to them? and Thanks

Hi hun, my lo has 6 bottles with size 2 teats and 2 bottles with the variflow teats. I intend to buy the next lot of teats in variflow as I really like them as they allow my lo to choose how fast she wants her milk.

Thanks

Went and bought the variflow and he had one for his bedtime, moaned for first couple of gulps and then was fine

Can honestly say he wasnt much quicker and was still falling asleep but defo seemed to be using less sucking energy so will carry on and see, might get a pack of size 2's as well and see before I go and buy for the rest of the 6 bottles

xx

i'm soo sorry! Not good at explaining myself!
Took 3o mins max rather than up tp 90 mins max!

we had the same problem when bella was 8 weeks, but she didn't get on with the next size of tt teats, so we switched bottles to dr browns (she'd never had any issues with tt before then).
xx
