I am thinking about buying a baby swing for my son, who will be four months old next week. However, most of the baby swings I have seen online only go up to 20 pounds (my son is close to 14 pounds already) or 6 months of age so I am wondering if its worth buying one at this point. I would hate to spend 100 pounds on something that is only used for a few weeks.

Anyway, I was hoping to hear from others as to how long their baby was able to use his/her swing for and if there are any makes of swings that are good for older babies. In addtion, even if my son is not too big for a swing soon--do older babies like them as much as newborns?

get a jumperoo instead :D Amelie stopped using her swing about 2 months ago and only uses her jumperoo now :)

I agree with the jumperoo idea, would be used alot longer. Once they are more aware of everything and holding themselves up more they want to be looking around and playing so I think the swing really wouldn't be used much.

yup i agree get a jumperoo insted...

i dont think luisa will use her much longer now.. i mainly use it when i need to pop her somewere safe while i do the washing up or something...she doesnt stay entertained in it for long

The swing has been a life saver liam wont sleep during the day without a struggle other wise! hes 7 month now and a big boy its really stable and reclines back :)
