Hi ladies,
just wanted to get some opinions really.
I'm definitely going to be going back to college to re-train as a veterinary nurse. Rather than if, it's a question of when. Now, obviously it's not going to be this year! (baby number 2 due in May) lol So the earliest I would be able to go is in 2013. I will 30 in September 2013 and I have had a couple of 'comments' about the fact that that is too old to re-train.
Thing is, my hubby and I are considering having another baby after this one, so I would potentially not start until 2014 or even 2015 if baby takes it's time. I may start the course then take a break, but would rather not. If it takes til 2015 I'll be 32.
Now my opinion is that at 32, I'll have to do a 2 year course so will be 34 by the time I'm qualified. The pension age in this country for people my age will be at least 67 so I'll have 33 years of working left. Now, forgive me, but that's a long time lol. Surely 34 isn't too old to be embarking on a totally new career (plus it's a vocational course, so will be in the workplace from day 1).
Anyone else doing anything similar? Had any comments, or got an opinion?
