Hiya Girls, My 4yr old has developed a habit of spending up to an hour on the toilet having a poo at home, and results in a screaming tantrum at the end.
This doesn't happen at Nursery, he goes by himself, wipes, washes hands and goes back to play. All ok in about 10 mins.
Last few weeks we have introduced him wiping his own bum at home, rather than us, as he starts school in September, and we felt he needs more practise its 50/50 whether he goes at nursery, and we had been, up till then doing it for him at home... ( I know, we left it too late)
Now we get "I don't know whether I'm finished or not" - ordinarily this would make me see a GP, (constipation etc etc) but he's taken to using this sentence with dinners, playing with toys etc - almost like he's concerned about the outcome if he gets his choice wrong..
We don't rush him, have never told him off for not wiping properly, or needing to go back in 10 mins later, I don't know what's going on.
He sits till he's poo'd, no problem, then screams for us, shouting "I don't know whether I'm finished or not" then it all disintegrates from there.. eventually he will wipe himself, but not after he's screamed himself horse!
