I'm not sure why but the doc only checked for a heartbeat at 10 weeks (didn't hear anything) and not at 12.5. I'm now in week 13 and bought a home doppler machine. And am so glad I did! Within 5 or so minutes I heard a beautiful strong heartbeat!! It was a little muffled with all the other ambient sounds of my belly but it was most definitely there!!!
