So my baby girl is 19 days old today and I'm sitting here thinking wow my Labour was a true blessing.
Here's how it all went........
Jan 2nd I start having contractions in the middle of the night coming every hour. They continued at every hour until about 3pm. During the contractions I start losing my mucus plug was so excited cause I just knew this was it. Mind you I'm having my first home birth no meds pain killers nothing! I so I notify the midwives at about 4pm because contractions started getting a bit stronger and coming every 4-7 kind lasting from 45 seconds to a minute 5 seconds. The midwives get to my house at about 5:30pm and now my contractions are coming about every 3 mind. But 35 40 minutes later they slowed down, I was concerned to why they slowed so they checked babies position and heart beat she was still high not engaged and heart was fine and position was back to stomach head down. So I do some walking and squats and pelvic rolls. I'm still getting contractions but not consistent. My midwife says are you having any pains at all? Cause your contractions are not consistent enough for Labour. I was like yeah I'm having pains when I get the contractions but not as bad as all this back pain I keep getting off and on! She goes huh? Back pain off and on what do you mean? I tell her my back keeps hurting bad and comes around to the front but all the pain is in my back. She says you need to time those they and come to find out it was back Labour! could be contractions in your back. I was shocked and started timing them. I time goes by contractions get stronger and start coming every minute excruciating pain continues along with the pressure and pushing. I finally at 3:30pm she crowns but midwives are stunned at what their looking at. It's her nose! Like huh her nose? They say she's Sunnyside up and after pushing her big head out I had to stop and let her come out on her own which was so hard to do. It took about 10 minutes for her to finally come out. When she did the poor, things face was so swollen but went down within the hour. She was 8lbs 6oz with a huge swollen head! I and I found out that she also had meconium, this labor for me was truly a blesding. Had I been in the hospital they would have forced a c section due to my slow dialation, Sunnyside up baby, waters not breaking and the meconium. But God was with us and protected us from harm. And now I have my beautiful healthy little girl. Dr's are still amazed at the fact we had her at home with no complications with her or me! Sorry for the long story lol apart. I had barely any break between these contractions. Mind you my water still has not broke. It is now about 1am I'm having excruciating pain contractions that just don't let up or go away. I keep having so much pressure and urge to push but I'm only 3cm and water still had not broke, finally at about 3am my water forcefully breaks babies heart rate is speeding up the
