Top teeth WORSE coming in?

Has anyone experienced this? Alex's top teeth are cutting and it seems 100 times worse than his bottom ones! Is this normal? He's upset all the time and so unsettled. I've had to give him calpol it's getting that bad and I hate giving him medicine

my baby's top teeth seem to be taking forever to come in and so it definitely seems much worse. He was really grumpy for a week or so and then his bottom two came through but he's been complaining with his top two for over two weeks now and there's still no sign of them pushing through yet. I've tried to not give him too much calpol but it's hard knowing what to do for the best some times.

Oh god, I hope not. We're having a nightmare with Freya's bottom ones (spiking temps, grumpy, not feeding, lethargic) and am having to give her regular calpol just to keep her temp down! DH had convulsions apparently with his teeth! I hope it doesn't get worse for her top ones!

Our LO has 3 bottom teeth and 2 top and the top ones were definitly the worst and it took about 2 Weeks for them to fully come down x

Top two were worse for us and I read that this is often the case. Not sure why but they are much bigger than the bottom ones. Apparently incisors and molars are even worse - joy!

yeah brookes top teeth where a nightmare once they came in she has cut her side teeth and a back tooth amd she was fine

brooke only has 7 teeth at 16 months lol

Same with Jacob! He refused to eat for about a week and only wanted booby with his top teeth.
His molars are coming through at the moment

YES!! She's been having a hard time with them for over 3 months! Currently they're starting to poke through and the past few days have been better but previously she was only sleeping with us, wouldn't settle at all, was grumpy, low fever, etc. It was much worse than the bottom ones.

same here...we barely noticed the 2 bottom and then we had 1 top one that was fairly irritating to her and then 3 top ones all at once! yuck. her sleep sucked, and she was super clingy--it took about 2 weeks

Yep, top teeth much worse for our little man. He is getting the top middle and side ones (incisors) all at once, so that is 4 teeth! 2 are through and 2 are about to cut. He has been grumpy and crying out in pain - horrible. It has taken about 3-4 weeks for these four teeth to come through. I will be so pleased when it will be over!

I hear that the top teeth are worse and seem to take longer to emerge. I hope everyone's teething babies are feeling better soon x

yeap top ones are the worst my little lad has one coming through now its just broke the skin and i have had 2 sleepless nights with them poor mite never even noticed the bottom ones coming through but he certainly knows about his top ones hes had a really sore bottome i mean raw and bleeding and temp and sickness which i could have all the pain instead of him

Poor thing. Hope they come quick. Theyre dreadful!

Kates only got one tooth but has been in a right state. She got a dreadful rash on her cheeks that wouldnt go 6 weeks on so doc has given her some steroid cream. All caused by one tooth!

Yes, symptoms were much worse for us - Louis cut four top teeth at the same time and it was hell, first bottom two weren't too bad for him. However he's cutting lower incisors atm and these have definitely caused him the most discomfort so far, before they poked through we had a few bad nights.
