My daughter is now 4.5 months old. We started using the fisher price rock and play for her to sleep in when she was about a month and a half old since she had reflux and seemed to be the only thing she would sleep in. Also, when we would try to get her to sleep flat in her crib and when she would have her reflux episodes, she would lose her breath and pretty much choke on it. Since then her reflux has seemed to gotten a lot better. My issue now is getting her to sleep in her crib. Lately I've been trying to put her in her crib during her daytime naps, but it doesn't work. After about ten minutes she rolls onto her belly and wakes up fussing. She recently learned to roll from back to belly (but can't roll from belly to back yet). That is another concern I have. I know babies aren't supposed to sleep on their stomachs but should I just let her lay like that when she rolls to her belly in the crib, because she can't roll back to her back yet if she wanted to? Should I wait to transition her?

Once they can get there on their own I think it's safe to leave them there...but of course it's even safer if they can roll both ways. I would leave her there if she's content there. I am having the same problem although my baby can roll both ways. The problem is she rolls onto her tummy and wakes herself up/startles herself and starts crying. She is inconsolable at this point and won't go back to sleep if I roll her back, leave her there, rock her, pat her or anything. I have to nurse her every time and I am getting so frustrated. The other night she had her vaccines and they must have made her sleepy and she slept amazing and didn't try to roll at all the whole night. Made me realize that I NEED her to do that again or I'm going to go insane! It is ruining her naps too. She lasts about twenty minutes then rolls and wakes herself up. I am beyond annoyed! Sorry I can't help but I can commiserate.

With my first daughter we moved her to the crib at 6 months. I let her sleep in the RNP until she started sitting up in it and rocking it across the room  My month old daughter is currently in the RNP right now and I'm assuming same timeline until we move her. Check out the reviews on this swaddle blanket. I plan on ordering one when we move lila to the crib. It sounds amazing be there's even videos of how it works. The pressure of the corners holding them in comforts them and helps them self-soothe back to sleep.

I definitely feel your pain!

I'm gonna have to order one and try it out! Thanks for the link!

We had the same issue - I tried to make the transition smoother by making his crib like a RnP to start - first, I would let him nap in the boppy in the crib (while I was in the room), b/c it's cozy and inclined. Then after a fews days of that, I took the boppy out and inlined the crib mattress and rolled up some blankets to make a little upside U shape under the sheets that was nice and cozy (again, I supervised while he napped since putting all this stuff in the in crib isn't exactly safe). Eventually I was able to get him to nap in there without anything, and then he was able to do nights too. Maybe try gradual step?

I never thought of doing it like that. I'll have to try it. I'm also super cautious when she sleeps. I always watch her if I try her in the crib and it also has the angel care monitor hooked up to it. I also attach the levana breathing monitor to the front of her diaper every time she goes to sleep
