My LO is 12 weeks. He will only sleep in his RnP. It is next to my bed. He has started sleeping longer stretches and will sleep between 6-8 hr stretches but only in RnP. I bought a bedside crib though because I want to get him in that instead and then his real crib at 6 months. He will not sleep in it at all or a pack n play. As soon as you put him down his eyes open. Even if he is out cold. He doesn't like to be swaddled. How do I get him to transition out of his RnP and into a crib? He has to start daycare two days a week in January. He will not sleep there at all if I can't get him to sleep in a crib.

I started by putting her down in the crib drowsy but awake for naps. I had one of those light up soothers attached to the crib, and she'd watch it before drifting off. After a week I started doing the same with bedtime. It took some picking up and rocking/putting down, but she did get used to it pretty quickly. :flower:

We dreaded this transition for our boys, because they also would only sleep in their RnP's. They were almost exactly the same age as your LO, and that was when we finally had luck. We did crib naps during the day, a musical mobile, and massages. The combo of those different things helped them to get out of the RnP and into their cribs happily. For some reason the musical mobile seems to have made the difference for them. We always put on the same song when we lay them down, and they seem to know right away that the song means sleepy time. If you're interested in all the things we tried that worked, I wrote up a summary of our best tactics. Good luck! https://www.theydontfeedthemselves.com/transitioning-twins-to-cribs/

We tried to create the things he loved about the rnp in his crib. We put a wedge under the mattress to elevate. We rolled up a towel in a u shape underneath of the crib sheet to cradle his body. We made sure that the towel was short enough where only his body rested in it and his face was above it.
