Hello all...

Just was wondering if anyone has traveled at the 12th week of pregnancy? I am one of the "lucky" ones, I don't get Morning Sickness. Usually by the end of first tri/beginning of second I start to get some energy back. I was just wondering if anyone has traveled via plane? We have a scheduled trip to Disney World and although we are going to go easy (1/2 days versus full days at the park, swims and hanging out at our resort more)...I am a bit nervous about the flight. I will bring it up to our Doctor at our visit on the 23rd, we would be going on 7 weeks by then if all goes well! Just looking for some input!

The flight is 2 hours.

Castaway - just wanted to say huge congratulations on your bfp!! I was on a board with you in the ttcal section and remember your most recent loss. I'm so thrilled to see you back here!

As for flying, I was looking at the same thing a few days ago and from everything I read it seemed to be fine! I'd avoid the rides though!

Congrats to you too!!!

Yeah everything I read is it is fine, esp. at the end of first tri/second tri. Just so nervous.

I have never had issues carrying so that is one thing I am OK with...never had braxton hicks even at 31 weeks!

We are so looking forward to getting away, guess it is now a Babymoon if Doc allows us to go and this pregnancy keeps moving forward

Hi Castaway, congratulations! I remember you from TTC last summer :hugs:

I live in Northern Ireland and my family are in England so I've been flying regularly through first and second tri. It's absolutely fine and there are no special conditions to take into account for a short trip, but if you're peeing a lot then an aisle seat will be a lot easier :) Have a fab time xx.

I took a 6 hour plane trip at 8 weeks with DD. I had had bleeding prior to our leaving and the scan showed a subchorionic hematoma so I wasn't sure the dr would let me fly (especially that long) but she said it shouldn't be an issue. The only things she said to do were to make sure I drank enough fluids so I didn't dehydrate and get up and walk every hour. Didn't have any issues other than some motion sickness at take-off and landing but I get motion sick if I sit on the back seat of a vehicle so I'm pretty susceptible to it. I'd say talk to your doctor and see what they say but it shouldn't be a problem.

Thank you all for your feedback! I look forward to discussing it with my Doctor.

I was 18 weeks when I flew and I was told to get up and walk around everyone once in a while - when you're pregnant you're at greater risk for whatever those blood clots you can get are when you're flying.

And have fun at Disneyworld! Just obey the signs :-) If it says no pregnant ladies, skip it. And eat all the delicious food you can find! :-)

Thanks lady, I planned on getting up a few times and I have support hose I will be wearing!

I can't wait to get back to Disney, we were married there and its been2 years we are due a trip back!

Did you have one of their princess wedding dresses? DH and I didn't go to Disneyland until AFTER we were married. Since then we've been so many times I can't even count (Disneyworld once). Had I known how awesome it was we would have totally had a destination wedding and I would have had one of the princess dresses.

We actually had our wedding on Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, the one their Cruiseline goes to! We then went back and spent two weeks after our wedding in Disney World...it was amazing! It was great too b/c we had a budget of 10K and it covered everything...our pictures are amazing (in Magic Kingdom before they even opened the park for a Wedding shoot) and pictures on the Island...we plan to do a vow renewal at 10 years!

This time around we are doing their Flower and Garden Festival, Art in the Garden(to meet one of my favorite Artists!) and of course the parks and dining at some fabulous restaurants!

I am SERIOUSLY jealous.

Have you ever been to Disneyland?

Not yet! We were gonna go next year, and do a cruise to Hawaii but I don't want to do that with a little itty bitty baby....So, we are thinking once our kids are 3+ we will head out to Disneyland for the weekend then a Disney cruise around Hawaii

My MIL was thinking of taking us on a cruise.... Disney baby has to be at least 12 weeks old and every other cruise line it's like 6 months or something. And they can only go in the kiddie pools until they're 3. Seemed like a waste of time to me. So MIL is just going to meet us in Disneyland next summer :-) I love going with the kids when they're babies. Little enough for cute pictures but small enough to still be portable :-)

Yeah I am not a fan of babies on DCL cruise, I feel like it is a rip off they charge for day care and everything. We will wait till they are old enough to enjoy it all...until then there is always disneyworld and maybe Aulani! :)

Do you have a time share? We went to a presentation once, but just for the free fast passes they give you, lol.

That is what this trip is for too, to buy into DVC. We are going the resale route, of course not telling them that! :haha:

I didn't travel during my pregnancy, but just stopped by to offer you huge huge congratulations on your BFP. I was so saddened to read you had miscarried <3. Sending hugs and prayers for an easy rainbow pregnancy <3
