So because of how late my 4 year old was... (2 weeks) I ended up with a cesarean. With this pregnancy, my DR told me she will not let me go past 39.5 weeks with this pregnancy. I have a cesarean booked for next Tuesday ( 8 days from now) but I REALLY, REALLY REALLY don't want another.
She gave me the go ahead that if I DO go into labor before then that she will let me try VBAC. On my appointment 2 days ago, she checked me and said I am 3 cm already AND she did a nice thorough sweep.

I also went for a massage yesterday. Last night at about 2 am, I woke up having terrible what felt like gas pains. They were obviously contractions cause they came almost every 5 minutes, and lasted a good 1-2 min. After 2 hours and they weren't intensifying, I tried to get some sleep. I did... and woke up 3 hours later with NOTHING. Some mild cramping today but that is it.

So because I REALLY don't want a c-section and was given the go ahead from my DR, I tried castor oil this AM. I took 2 tablespoons at 930 and 2 at 130... aaaaaaaand NOTHING. Not a cramp, or bowel movement.... I even went for a nice brisk walk.

I am somewhat disappointed it didn't work for me. :(. I thought my body was giving me all the signs it was ready for baby but I guess its not my time.

Anyone else try good ol castor oil and have it fail miserably? :(

I'm with you. I tried it at about 1pm today and got no reaction at all. I have been cramping on and off for the last two and half hours though. I think it's just false labor though. I would love to go to bed but I'm scared of halting any progress I'm making now. Might give the oil another try tomorrow.

Most places in the uk don't sell castor oil anymore and nowhere will sell it to a pregnant woman. My friend took this n baby pooped inside her and needed to spend 5 days on antibiotics. Baby will come when it's ready

There are absolutely no studies verifying the connection to meconium and castor oil. Many midwives still recommend it. It's no different than taking any other synthetic prescription laxative commonly prescribed to pregnant women as long as it's taken correctly. A lot of the time mothers taking castor oil are overdue which increases the chance of meconium regardless of castor oil. It is true baby will come when ready which is why castor oil will not work if baby is not ready. I know I did my research on it before trying and felt comfortable with the risks. It's a personal choice, and I felt it was a viable option to attempt avoiding my induction scheduled for the 3rd.

Castor oil are usually taken past due dates when mothers are desperate (hardly none will dare to take it before due date) so I can see how meconium
Is mistakenly connected.

And how did it go! Any baby yet?

I had regular contractions 5min apart for a few hours and spent the night in L&D but only progressed to 3.5cm so I got sent home. I've just been having random clusters of contractions since then.
