I'm 40 and living with husband and 2 year old son in georgia due to his work (ex russia georgia). period was 3 days late, but was it a period? it was shorter than usual and just didn't feel like a period (hard to explain) so did preg test and showed positive. They only have the cheap wee-on sticks here so no digital ones or anything. Then next day another positive test. Then go to a real basic hospital and they scan me and see nothing and tell me it's because it might be an egtopic pregancy. So have come to another city in georgia as recommended by my health insurance. they have checked hcg levels by doing a blood test which show i am about 3 to 4 weeks preg but still no sign of any sac in the belly yet which maybe because it's too early to tell but have to say i have no preg swollen boobs, no need to wee, no need to keep drinking but do feel a bit pregnant in the belly. It's hard going as I have to wait maybe a week to see if there really is a pregnancy in the uterus, by keeping on doing transvirginal scans. if there isn't then it could be egtopic and that might show itself by me getting pain. So many others must be experiencing the same thing..positive preg tests but not much preg signs. my 3 day bleed wasn't a good sign. Anyone in a similar position?

i would try posting this in the pregnancy section rather than the TTC section!

It's weird that they don't do a vaginal scan, isn't it?
Sorry to be of no help
And I think this post absolutely fits here, seeing as you don't know for sure what's going on yet :hugs:

Sorry if caused offence....but generally i think it is better to ask for advice about the early stages of pregnancy and very early pregnancy scans in the pregnancy forums..im sure the ladies there will be better able to provide the reassurance you need as not all the ladies in the TTC forums have experience of pregnancy [yet!].

many women don't get any symptoms in those first few weeks....im afraid i have no idea of when the sac/heartbeat can first be detected via a transvaginal scan but i have no doubt that the lovely ladies on here will be able to advise you further.

i hope you find the reassurance and advice you need x
