So it has been a long road for Hubby and I.

Started actively trying June 2011 and since then many tests and then the longest referral to a fertility specialist ever. We have still not been to the specialist, however we are now moving provinces and will have to reapply when we get there, so I have decided to order Fertilaid for Women (as hubby's little men are fantastic) and see if this has any effect.

Since both hubby and myself will be separated for the move for the next month or two I decided to start Fertilaid just to see if it has any impact on my natural cycle. While trying I have done a lot including temp checking every morning and can see that I ovulate every month, however I have only twice gotten a positive on an ovulation test which is concerning. Also I find my LP very short only 0 - 12 days in length and spotting for 1 - 2 days prior to AF.

I am hoping that within three months this multivitamin will be able to assist my hormones and create a happy healthy uterus.

Anyone with me or does anyone have any experiences with this?

Hi there,

Sounds like a change in specialists with your move might be just the fresh start you both need.

I think I might have similar issues to you in terms of cycle etc. so anything that can help improve hormonal balance can only be a positive step :) get cracking on your vits!

I have also started acupuncture. I used to have incredibly painful periods (pain waking me up in the night sometimes and other nasty things that I probably shouldn't post!), but while my cycles still jump between 23 and 27 days, the pain and flow have really improved. My acupuncture lady is now keen to sort out my short luteal phase so we're about to alter when in my cycle I have my treatment. She thinks I have stagnant blood flow to my uterus and is looking at how to boost and improve this. Might acupuncture be something you would want to look into?

I had started a thread immediately below yours as I am keen to find out about getting my hormone checks and egg levels tested. Perhaps you could ask your new fertility specialist to help with the same for you?

Hope this helps and your move goes well :) baby dust to you x

Once I actually get a fertility specialist I would love to ask them questions and getting my blood tested again is the first thing I hope they do!

I am also doing acupuncture a few times a month since October last year. Although did not help with my cycles or conceiving, it did help with stress relief for me so I truly recommend it!

Good luck and Baby dust to you!

I used FertilAid for over a year...still waiting. So, it does work "like magic" for many people, but there are some it doesn't work for.

You might want to ask your specialist about progesterone supplementation to lengthen your LP. That is what mine has recommended and I now only spot one day (compared to 3-4) at the end of my period. LP is regularly now 14-15 days. It was previously 12-15 (they should never vary more than one day cycle to cycle).

I would say do your own research on the ingredients of FertilAid to find out the side effects. It's not true that there are no side effects.

After one day of taking it I had the worst headache and nausea. I decided to do some research on side effects and I found a website that says you shouldn't take Vitex (one of the ingredients of FertilAid) if you have endometriosis or fibroids.

So I have been taking Fertilaid for about a month now and I can say for sure I am seeing some changes.

1 - Lots of energy. Do NOT take this at night or at dinner you will not sleep
2 - Very randy
3 - Not as emotional - We are going through a move and I am strangely calm about it. This is not normal for me especially a few days prior to AF (which was 9 days ago)

I haven't noticed anything with my actual ovulation as I started this last month after I ovulated (or there abouts). Fingers crossed for a fertile month with a welcoming uterus! Hubby is coming home right in time for ovulation so this may be our month

Girls, I just posted a thread so I'm like some crazy advocater lady lol, but have you tried TCM, traditional Chinese medicine ? ..it's acupuncture treatments combined with herbs and terrible tasting teas... After 21 months trying 1 misscarrage and several chem. my TCM doc told me to give him 4 months- the first 2 no trying, only healing (yes it was impossibly hard, but I told him I wouldn't try and I tried anyways, he took my pulse and called me out ! He could tell I was lying !!) I got my bfp this month (3rd month). I would very highly recommend it, seriously ! ... Do some research, it's got some serious stats

I have been doing acupuncture since September and no luck.

Just the acu, or the medicine as well?? ... There is a tea you boil for an hour consisting of a big bag of roots and herbs, berries, all kinds... And the tea is combines with a couple pills and some drops... Each patient gets evaluated at every appointment and the doctor will adjust the herbs and tea according to your pulse, tongue, etc... He told me I was pregnant by my pulse almost a week before the pos test... Very weird !!!

Another update

I GOT A POSITIVE OPK !!!
Haven't seen one of these in a very long time, excited to get bding!

Congratulations Myshelsong. I am glad that fertilaid helped. I have irregular cycles and my doctor thinks i dont ovulate. I have ordered a months supply of fertilaid yesterday. I am hoping it will help.

AF came today morning after my first month of fertilaid. My cycles were long ,like 46 days , after a miscarriage almost 3 years back. This is my shortest cycle after that- 33 days. Me and DH somehow missed the fertile window, so not blaming fertilaid for the BFN . We are continuing on it for another month. I am ttc after failed treatments like IUI and IVF.
