Hi,

Completely new to this so apologies if this is in the wrong forum.

Me and my husband have decided to try to conceive and have been doing so for a few months. Its a little harder as I do not regular periods and haven't for some years so I am finding OPKs a little confusing. I have tested 10days after my last cycle and it showed LH but no full spike (or i missed it). I have sinced had lots of cramping and thought perhaps I had conceived. I am now due and took a HCG test and it is negative, I just checked OPK again due to my cycle and there is LH detected again (I did 2 and they were the same).

Just wondered any ideas on this. Can you ovulate more than once a cycle and near your cycle due date?

Thank you so much for any advice in advance,

xx

The lines for hcg test were very clearly 1 only so a negative for definite.

On the LH tests i had a very clear test line and half the darkness i had a LH line, so detected but not a surge.

Ive had an explanation about it could just be oestrogen surge as near due date, so looks like definitely not successful this time. I had read about LH could show if you were pregnant but now further read saying HCG test would have been positive for that to be the case.

This stuff is harder than its made out to be!!

Xx

Hey, wishing you lots of luck in this ttc journey!
My piece of advice for you would be to keep a record of your periods. dates of start and stop days for future reference. It certainly is good to have if you do have trouble getting pregnant. Not a lot of women know they will struggle during this process in the beginning so just to be safe have that info on hand. If you dont mind me asking, what are your cycles like, how long are they?
