So this is my first forum post ever. I have been watching a ton of YouTube videos however never really thought much about forums. I was hoping to start a forum where there was discussion on male infertility factors. If any of you have done research, I am sure you have found this subject less commonly talked about. A little about our story. My husband and I are both 35 as of January. We have been trying to conceive for 17 months. We started TTC September of 2013(our wedding month). We did not tell anyone we were trying since we assumed we would get pregnant right away and we could surprise everyone. For the first few months we just BD'ed a lot not knowing much about TTC. After a few months of trying I started doing more research. I found websites YouTube videos and started trying multiple TTC techniques. We did conceive plus, I started taking prenatals and I attempted to try temping. I soon realized that temping was more difficult as my sleep schedule was not consistent. After about six months without any success I decided to try visiting the doctor just to make sure everything was okay. At this point the gynecologist thought that with my regular period, she believed I was ovulating and she believes everything was okay and didn't see why we wouldn't be able to conceive naturally. She suggested we use Clear Blue OPK to confirm ovulation. At this point I was 34 with six months until I was 35. As I'm sure you know they suggest waiting a full year of TTC if you're under 35. I was really frustrated that they wouldn't do any testing then. If in six months we did not conceive, we were to call her again. Unfortunately at the 12 month mark we were still TTC. She sent us to a fertility specialist where I had a normal ultrasound, normal blood work as well as a normal HSG. My husband also completed blood work along with the semen analysis. His results came back with low morphology and motility however his count was high. She subscribed some vitamins (L-Carnatine and Acetyl L-carnatine) to help with the sperm. I believe his morphology was at 1% however I don't remember the motility. She suggested that we get our numbers up to at least 5% to qualify for IUI. The vitamins that we went on require 72 days to approve the sperm cycle. We've had a second analysis to confirm if the vitamins worked. His morphology is now 8% and we are 160 days of taking the vitamins. Based on our schedule we were not able to get in any sooner for the second analysis. We are still trying for our BFP. Have any of you experienced a similar issue and gotten pregnant? I would love to hear your stories of how you overcame male infertility.

Hi!
We were TTC for 6 months, and I was getting regular ultrasounds to ensure that I was making follicles (ovulating), as I have PCOS. I balance that with staying gluten free and always having protein with my 5-6 meals a day.
But the DH.. after 6 months of trying and NOTHING, my OBGYN suggested he get tested. Well, we were shocked and devastated
10 million total sperm
20% motility
0% normal morphology
All are "severe low" category.
We didnt even qualify for IVF/ICSI. Being the hippie-soul that I am, I research for days about how to naturally improve DH's sperm issues. They were dire to say the least. Severe Low count. Severe Low motility. Sever Low morphology. We even talked about sperm donors. We were both very depressed and just terrified.

Fast forward 3 months later, and we have an great improvement.
93 million total sperm
39% motility
4.5% normal morphology

So, although this is still not good across the board, (all are still in "low" category, but no more severe! :happy dance: ) it is a VAST improvement! Our Dr.s say to keep up the good work and to try TTC on our own. We are eligible for IUI if his number stay in this range (and go up is helpful too, obvi).
So here is his health plan:
No caffeine (decaf maybe 1x a week)
No alcohol (maybe 1 glass of wine.. ONLY WINE! every 2 weeks)
Try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep
Wear boxers more often (he was a briefs man before)
and the cocktail of supplements 2x a day….all pills btw
AM-
mens multi/or multi antioxidant formula
inosotil (spelled wrong perhaps)
vitamin c
acetyl-l-carnitine
b12
Coenzyme Q10
Zinc/copper
MACA
grapeseed
pinebark extract
primrose oil

PM-
Acetyl-l-carnitine
L-Arginine
L-Carnitine
Selenium
Vitamin E
Zinc +C
pine bark
folic acid
vitamin D
Red Marine Algae
Omega Oil

And this yielded FANTASTIC improvements on the DH initial poor SA.
No baby yet.. but were about to go on vacation and feeling very positive! He also just started acupuncture 1x a week about 3 weeks ago.

**Baby dust** to you!!!!
