Oh my god, i've had the worst day every, i went back to work today, i complained cos i didnt get SSP, manager played dumb didnt no i hadnt, well if you returned my calls you'd of known!!!

Anyway after i made this complaint and said i had reported them to direct gov, i got a letter handed to me, saying i am having a formal meeting to discuss my sickness and complains lodged against me for not being in work, so i have just done my research online and seen that they are discriminating against me and printed loads of stuff off, to take with me, which they aint gonna like and all of a sudden they cant find my signed contract with them!!!

If they try to fire me or extend my probation, i will then give them my mat leave form and i will be going on it on 31st july so that they cannot say anything about it.

Its just ne thing, they say dont stress well stop utting this shite on me and i wouldnt be stressing will i!!!

Anyone else having trouble with there work, and all of a sudden problems now airsing now your pregnant? xxx

Hiya girls,

i had my meeting with work and they backed everything down, as i had brought so much paperwork to back up my rights they all stepped down, i made some complaints again other collueges and some managers and things have been dealt with straight away, and on a plus im only gogin to be working with my favourite branches, so less work load and im going to be starting my mat leave on 31st july!! so i can get out of there asap!!!

I had the exact same problem with my work... in fact the week I lost Seb they were going to sack me - they only took me back because they felt guilty over all the stress and phonecalls they were making when I got out of hospital.

Hold your ground hun, you are right, they are discriminating against you - best thing to do is to get yourself down to the citizens advice bureau chick :)

Where I work is a joke tbh, no contracts, no sick pay, holidays when they feel like giving us them, not when we want them... the list is endless.

I hope you're going to take your maternity leave and run as far away from that place as possible hun :hugs:

See my thread in my sig hun. I have every sympathy!

You do right by taking in all the relevent paperwork. While it's absolutely no excuse, they might not know about all of the anti-discrimination law in place.

Are you taking anyone in with you? A colleague or a union rep? I know it sounds like over-kill but if they start saying things that aren't true it's your word against theirs so it's good to have back-up (I wish I had done this when I got called in but I had no notice on the first meeting.)

Write everything down that you have told them and when if possible as if you need to lodge a formal complaint they can help.

Hope it goes ok and don't take any messin'!!

Can I ask how long you were off? SSP kicks in on the 4th day, but it is usually HR that would instruct this. Also, have you spoken to HR themselves (if it is a big enough company to have HR dept) For your meeting they will more than likely have a note taker - make sure your views are witten down. you should sign every alteration to the notes, and the bottom of each page. Ask for a copy of them too and make sure your request for it is also included in the notes.
probation is normally performance related. To extend or not put through probation, they will need to have had discussions with you in order for you to show improvement within that time. You can appeal against any decision made even if not put through probation, you need to make sure you do it in writing within 7 days. Appeals will be done by someone higher up.
You can also put in a grievance against your manager if you so wish and that would have to be dealt with by his manager and be treated as a separate case. HTH -x-

I was off for 3 weeks cos of my spd, i've been with them since december 3 weeks before i conceieved.
We dont have union rep, and i dont really trust anyone i work with to back me up to take in with me, but im taking down my own notes i will not sign anything until notes are typed up etc.
Its HR that is asking for the meeting with me and manager, they said they have compliants from branch managers for when i was off sick that made complaints that im not in, well its due to pregnancy so cant bring it up, and i want examples of everything, i cant speak to CAB cos the phone hours they work im in work and cant take time out for personal calls etc.
Im gathering all my emails from people at work and also taking in forms from direct gov website.

But if they extend probabtion or get rid of me, i will lodge a complaint for getting rid of me and if they extend probabtion i will, then on monday give them the date which i will start mat leave which is asap!!! xxx

Are you in a union? If you are, ask them to represent u xx

Im not no, i looked into that!!
Well its the big day tomorrow, meetings at 10am so ill find out whats going on then, i've written down loads of questions and got all my prints out etc xxx

Good luck hun!

One thing that stood out to me....people are making complaints about you being off. Who at your work knew that you were pregnant? I'm going to assume that your manager knew and HR did too as you were signed off with a PG related illness! If they did they should be able to field the complaints wihtout stressing you out?

Take notes, ask for a copy of their notes (provided you agree with what is written), sign them before they are photocopied so that they cannot amend them.

I hope it goes ok and if you're not happy get a complaint in and get your point accross!

Best of luck and let us know how you get on.
