If it helps, you could write yourself a few notes and take them with you? Hopefully, that way, you won't forget any of the things that you want to say. Would that help?

I would suggest writing your questions down and maybe bringing your charts (if you have been temping) - that should help get the ball rolling with your appointment.

    Good Luck

Hi, I've been ttc since my period mid October. I've seen the dr who was lovely and did blood tests but I don't think she really thinks anything's wrong. I'm waiting on the results of my progesterone check but I get the feeling that whatever the result I'll have to have more tests before much is done. Until it's been a year I feel like I'll get fobbed off.

I hope everything goes well in your appointment.

GPs wait a year because 85% of people will conceive in 12 months. i.e thats normal. Especially in the UK, the system is there to detect disease, which is very unlikely to be present especially if you've TTC less than 12 months. By definition, couples aren't 'infertile' until 24 months without pregnancy.

I work as a health professional hence my views - all the best with TTC!

Lol, I know all that and I can see the point. I only went to the dr because I've been feeling ill and as part of all the blood tests she did she did a hormone test. I then got a letter calling me back for another hormone test. I worry about being fobbed off in case the reason I feel so unwell is because of some hormonal issue but that nothing will get done until I've been trying for a year, although right now I just want to feel well again.

Hi Steph...I'm at about the same point...been trying since October, on cycle 7. I went to the doctor last cycle as I knew I had a short luteal phase and he started me with the "basic" blood tests (FSH and LH levels), as well as thyroid tests. That's probably where your doctor will begin, as they have to rule those things out before they could recommend you to a specialist. I don't think they would put you on Chlomid without running those tests first, although I can't say for sure as I'm in Canada and you're in the UK:) Good luck and let us know how it goes!
