TTC #1 Month 8 :)

Hi,
We are currently TTC #1 and have been trying since Oct 08, have a dr's appointemnt tomorow so hopefully will find something out, got a feeling I will be put on clomid though. Any TTC'rs out there who have had the BFP and would like to send some unused preseed as I cant buy it off the net, (have had fraud on my bank card so not got one now.. ) Heehee sorry for being cheeky Just been so depressed with worrying sumets is wrong, trying to try everything possible. Anyone from UK? been TTC about the same time??

Hi, I've been ttc since my period mid October. I've seen the dr who was lovely and did blood tests but I don't think she really thinks anything's wrong. I'm waiting on the results of my progesterone check but I get the feeling that whatever the result I'll have to have more tests before much is done. Until it's been a year I feel like I'll get fobbed off.

GPs wait a year because 85% of people will conceive in 12 months. i.e thats normal. Especially in the UK, the system is there to detect disease, which is very unlikely to be present especially if you've TTC less than 12 months. By definition, couples aren't 'infertile' until 24 months without pregnancy.

Lol, I know all that and I can see the point. I only went to the dr because I've been feeling ill and as part of all the blood tests she did she did a hormone test. I then got a letter calling me back for another hormone test. I worry about being fobbed off in case the reason I feel so unwell is because of some hormonal issue but that nothing will get done until I've been trying for a year, although right now I just want to feel well again.

I know most Dr's will wait a year but like I say im just worried, my doctors are quite nice so hoping they will look into it to put my mind at rest, so me and oh can get dtd without worrying

Hi Steph...I'm at about the same point...been trying since October, on cycle 7. I went to the doctor last cycle as I knew I had a short luteal phase and he started me with the "basic" blood tests (FSH and LH levels), as well as thyroid tests. That's probably where your doctor will begin, as they have to rule those things out before they could recommend you to a specialist. I don't think they would put you on Chlomid without running those tests first, although I can't say for sure as I'm in Canada and you're in the UK Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Well been to Dr's she was very nice but they couldnt do anything till 12 months like i expected, but thats ok, she has made me feel more positive. She was so nice she has even prescribed me folic acid on a repeat prescription... for free Which was very nice of her.
So got a more positive out look for this month.
Right This is what im gunna do:-

EPO up until Ov(although guessing when I ov coz cnt get OPK's)
Smep(followed to the tea!)
2 sachets of preseed(so will have to use them wen i think i ov)
Folic acid everyday
And the most important!! Im Gunna Enjoy it, instead of stressing and I might have better luck
